Welcome back. Given the power drain on phones running GPS apps, I purchased a Nuvi 65. This summer I bought a mount for the bike. Not water proof but can easily switch screens while wearing gloves. In damp weather I plan on placing a bag over the GPS. Power is coming from an accessory 12v plug.

Are you ok? Are you still riding? I'm a new rider took my course 5 years ago and just now getting to ride. Your video on working the clutch was a great refresher for me.

i use my sumo on the bike and in my jeep. gotten to the point i don't travel without it. the zumo is so much better than a smart phone for navigation, and the GPS with maps is a great travel combination tool

Yes the connector on the Garvin 12v plug is proprietary, also if the map updates are too large you will need the microSD card for that as well

A pleasant surprise to see the alert that you had posted a new video. Great to see you back. Found it odd you dropped out of sight. I will follow for now but have put my bike up for sale as I regretfully no longer have time for riding. My five monkeys (age 6,8,10,13,15) keep me crazy busy with camp and sport schedules alone. Glad you are back on the airwaves here and look forward to seeing some additional vlogs.

I just received my Garmin 595LM GPS and was extremely disappointed that the cradle was not lockable! I had a Garmin 550 Zumo and it came with a lockable cradle which was a nice feature considering it is for motorcycles that make frequent stops!

Nice to see you back! Looks like nice device, but I don't know, if I'd put that on my bike. Seems a bit too big. I used my smartphone for my first trip, and it did a great job, and takes far less room, on the handlebars. Rain did not do it any harm either.

Cool review/unboxing, I have thought about buying this but can not justify the money. On the other hand zip lock bags over the gps blows out and can't see anything on it. Rubber bands do well to hold the bag but still the fear of water getting in. I feel if they had a lifetime warranty no matter what I would jump on it then. Glad to see you back, keep 'em comin

I like your unboxing! At this moment in time I'm running a TomTom, and a smart phone on both my bikes. The TomTom will be removed in the near future. The smart phone will be my main navigation tool, along with a paper map. I run two programs on the smart phone, Google Trips, and WAZE. WAZE is a free app. Like Google Trips I can select no freeways, and no toll roads with WAZE. Just back roads. Garmin, TomTom, Google Trips, or WAZE will get you lost! Both GPS systems got me lost twice back in July while on a trip out West. I've added a Bluetooth device I bought for $180, so I can now here my phone's GPS instructions while riding, as well as listen to music. Stand alone GPS systems like TomTom, and Garmin, pull more power than a motorcycle cigarette lighter plug can provide, and they will shut down after a while due to low battery. They have to be wired directly into the bikes electrical system. I've just found your channel, and I like it so far!

Harley owners on their infotainment complain their GPS does not ZOOM out while approaching a destination. Please let us know if this Garmin is without this flaw.

I've lost my fate in Garmin's Zumo or Montana. Will go with Tom Tom 450 the next time.

I have a question for you. Did you feel any buzzing from the handle bars on the Vulcan Vaquero? And did it go away after the motor got broken in?

The Garmin motorcycle harness is an unmitigated disaster. Why we can't just get one that delivers power only is maddening.

You quit youtube. Why would someone attend a quiters church? Attitude adjustment needed.
