I love your watercolor batiks and have created several, however how to I avoid getting dark splotches where I don’t want them lol. I have followed your tutorials to the letter, but still get at least one or two splotches!
I suspect what is happening when you crinkle the wax is too much wax falls off leaving a big area that gets darker when you add the last wash. I tell my students to not crinkle it too much or too aggressively. You might also be applying the wax too heavily at the end.
