I love this, but there is one thing i would recommend, try using 2 different colors for the glasses, if you look at garnet, she has dual colored shades. no offence to your works, but that would give it a more genuine effect. This is a lovely tutorial, i will try this if i can get the stabilizer and the fabrics~ Thank you!!
+NYX thewolf Thanks for the feedback! I had thought about doing the dual colours, but for simplicity I went with just the 1 colour, plus I didn't have a second colour on hand that would go well with platinum. If you make one with dual colours, I'd love to see it, it'll definitely add the the Garnet effect :D Good luck!
+Snuggle Factory Thanks! Oh, and i have a few questions; 1. where did you get the minky? (what fabric store? ) 2. how much of what color did you use in total? 3. what is the estimated time from start to finish for the full tutorial? i plan on making 3 or 4 for my Steven universe fan, friends including myself and my girlfriend, we both LOVE garnet (i tried to be organized to make it easier on you)
+NYX thewolf I buy my fabric online, I've added links to the description. I used only a very small amount of platinum and raspberry, so about 15cm of raspberry, and a 'charm' of Platinum wich is a 5" square I'm pretty sure. For the same size cube I made, you'll need 25cm of black fabric per cube, assuming you use your fabric efficiently, I didn't use my fabric efficiently in the video, I should have started with a piece of fabric closer to the shape of the garnet cube. I always buy double just in case I make a mistake and need more fabric. Estimated time depends on your skill level, I recommend setting aside a few hours for this project, it's not difficult, it's just time consuming. I definitely want to see them when you're done :D Garnet is my favourite Crystal gem, so I couldn't resist making these cubes :3
