Garp forever changed the bar to be a badass. Walking away from an explosion is no longer #1, falling to the ground, arms crossed and smiling now is - a Gigachad Landing.
That part was taken straight out of the yonkou theme. Garp's theme song is so upbeat as a whole that there needed to be a little reminder of how much of a monster he used to be and still is.
But I also love it when they add the 2000s songs at the end of some of the modern songs so as not to forget them. Like stampede's theme having we are at the end.
This music undermines the real impact of a marine completely anihilating the entire emperor pirate group. This seems motivational, which is the biggest problem. I should not be upbit, Instead, if they had chosen something serious, music. It could have given actual thrills. I can't wait wit studio to take over and see their version of one piece. I love the manga and I love the amv of one piece. But original anime is disappointing to the legend, such as One Piece written by Oda.
The point was to show Garp the hero. The music represents that perfectly, up until galaxy impact where the ost turns serious, with the brass section playing descending notes to convey his might, after which it goes back to feeling mighty, because OST and the animation are meant to show Garp the Hero, and they achieved that. The OST only boosts garp's show of strength.
