Mattia L. Well if you actually watched carefully you would have seen that was a straddled hand and he checked his option to raise, pre-flop. It’s called a BB special, just a straddle special in this case.

its dynamics. Not only is it BTN vs BB, but its Gman dynamics. Everyone knows Garett is 3b wide blinds vs btn and BTN vs everything else. and Garrett knows people are going to 4b him light (in this case it wasn't) in position bc he's 3b wide out of the blinds so he can 5b light too. In this case he had AK so 5b is fine. Once he gets 6b shoved he's sort of pot committed. I'm guessing he knew/assumed Henry is not a nit who's only 6bet shoving AA, but that he could have AK, KK-QQ and some bluffs like Axs .etc

You have got to give Garrett respect after making that fold on the river with 7/3. He know's he made a big mistake by betting $12,000.00 on the river ....and he knew he was beat. There are so many other player's out there who would just make that call out of frustration. He did the right move instead of compounding a mistake. Mad Respect Garrett Adelstein.
@StuartFerguson55
@StuartFerguson55 7 лет назад
fold on the river there is easy... not even close. He over bet like the bottom of his value range and got jammed on for like a million against an opponent that was completely uncapped. Only the worst of the worst would call here out of frustration. I'll give the guy credit for many other hands he as played on LATB, but this is not one of them.
@aaronsoto629
@aaronsoto629 7 лет назад
You must be a real moron and know nothing about poker. Yes I understand anyone is folding in this situation. But the guy had been getting cooler after cooler especially from JMC. You have got to be at least a little bit on tilt after that much. JMC made a horrendous All-In bet with the A7 hand on the river....If anything I think the club is what saved Garrett from calling the All-In. I can almost guarantee you he had him on A10 or better through out the entire hand. It did take some discipline to make that fold on the river and your saying it didn't you don't know shit about cards buddy. JMC could have extracted another 15k from that pot if he min raised it...
@StuartFerguson55
@StuartFerguson55 7 лет назад
The river club saved him? Which hands that contain clubs get to the river from JMC? The Ac is on board, and the 7c is in Garretts hand. JMC would have to be both betting the flop with and then subsequently floating the flop c/r with a hand like KQcc or 86cc to have even one combo of flush on his range on the river. The river jam is repping a full house almost exclusively. As for min raising versus jamming... raising the river is going to look absurdly strong no matter what the sizing is. So JMC might as well go for max value when he has the effective nuts against Garretts calling range.
@asterix87
@asterix87 7 лет назад
If JMC is ever bluffing there, what hands should he do it with? A5/A9 (blocks 75 and 79)?
@asterix87
@asterix87 7 лет назад
I don't think Garrett is calling even if JMC minraised. I agree with Stuart that raising the river looks extremely strong no matter what the size. Trip 7s is just a bluff catcher in that situation.

Might not be a fortune by his standards, but certainly not bad for someone who "can't win a hand". Considering the hands we saw him lose, her certainly MUST have won a lot more hands that they simply didn't show. Check calling would be a horrible play given the run out. You lose more value by check/calling than you do by betting because there are very few combos of hands which are going to bet the river given Adelstein is holding a three. You only check/call if you're trying to play cautiously. There's no reason for Adelstein to play cautiously given pre/post flop action. He just got extremely lucky by running into one of the very few combos that crushed him.
