Its an odd thing indeed. Just show the machine with the caveat that things may change in the retail release versions. Why is Garrett not showing the screen, tones etc and qualifying it with a disclaimer that there may still be futher changes? And surely, the Vortex is "user updateable" right? Which means there should be updates coming further down the line. It's all just smoke and mirrors folks. If Garrett truly had a good machine in the Vortex they would be showing it all over the place.
I've never seen such a botched release of a metal detector. Not only that, it's insulting at so many foreigners are reviewing this metal detector instead of Americans. I mean it is a American company
Yup. No way im buying a Garrett detector until it fully comes out and i watch plenty of other folks swingin' it for a while....because honestly here, they may be decent detectors....but they just can't quite fully compete with the other TOP 3 manufacturers on the market these days.
I was wondering the same thing. Only a couple reason to use single freq. Single is better performance or super bad EMI. Can't imagine EMI in the middle of a field
Paul its just a feeling because it does not take much testing to disprove that....If he is using the NOX in single in iron he is leaving all kinds of relics behind in the iron...
Diggers Den just sent out a note saying they aren't going to ship till around Thanksgiving now. Because they are going to change the connector on the back.
I think they jumped the gun on the release ! And created their own problems and controversies ! If the machine was not ready they should never have set a release date ! Personally I think they've been falling behind for a long time.
The detector was going to be in failure. people have caught on to the color change and same old stuff that garrett’s are. So it went back to the drawing board. 😃
Digger Dawn reported a similar story , she's not aloud to show the screen or let the audio be heard hence why shes detecting with earphones in her vortex videos .
Sounds to me like they received enough criticism for not having up-to-date tech in the machine, from you and others, that they felt it necessary to update everything. That sounds like an almost complete redo. I don't know if I believe late September. Maybe end of the year if what I'm thinking is true. They'll want to have the machine updated and in testers hands to show it off. Im sure theyre relying on everyone that put in a preorder, but this is why I don't preorder stuff like this. Its touted as one thing and fails to deliver. But maybe this will be different. It needs to compete with a Minelab Eq 900/Manticore, Nokta Legend, XP Deus2. At the moment it can't.
Sounds like the engineers at Garrett are struggling to design a functioning metal detector with all these new features that they’re not accustomed to designing. If I were them, I would be making some phone calls and sending out some emails for some help😂
Delays aren't uncommon. Every company does it. If the delay leads to something better.......great. If not it's not like I'm suffering while I wait. I have a machine I can use now just fine.
They clearly want to get it together before a world wide launch 🚀 Yes they jumped the gun but Hey better late and right than never, I got to have a play , fiddle with settings and good look at the screen on the just detect rally in the uk last weekend , They had a test bed and it gave the feed back you want on the targets , Did it exceed above and beyond what’s available in the market at present , to be honest until it’s release on to the general public I don’t think we will know ! Im English we only have one machine built in the uk now 🇬🇧 C.scope , You guys only have a couple I know of built in the USA get behind it 🇺🇸 👍

Manticore has a specific sound for bottlecaps. I know when I go over them. I've learned how the Legend sounds for them as well. Personally I dont want a reject feature. Give it a unique sound so I can tell that way. I dont want the machine blocking tones. It might block something I'd like to dig.
I would buy a new FT machine right now if it was mid-top end and competitive features wise. FT = Bounty Hunter= bass pro = sell out. This is the corporate side has abolished the passion the companies once had years ago.
I think there very much in buisness but i think like garrett they do commercial type big contracts ? Dont quote me but that may be why these american companies neglect there hobby/sport side also who knows what goes on on with the supply chain for the actual different components cant believe they haven’t put the circuitboard out of a t2 or f75 in some kind of modern waterproof platform i mean they would at least have Somethin
@@christianh7863 yes thats what was said a very long time ago fisher actually had some advertisements up for this the new pulse gold machine for quite some time but has been taken down now for a while i would imagine it was based off the impulse platform and they then realized it would be about as popular (not very) as the impulse aq idk thats what im thinkin anyways and as far as the new smf goes im almost thinkin at this stage it would be impossible for them to release anything that would outperform the current machines how can you hope to catch up when your more then ten years behind ?
I've been on relic hunts with guys using Nox's and a Deus II and some days I have better finds than them while using a At Pro. So keep spending those dollars on the latest and greatest...😂

Couldn’t agree more, I’m sure there’s better detectors out there I watched the comparison. We hunt rev war sites and have been killing it with our AT Max’s. If you’re having fun and filling your relic room put that extra money on something else like a cooler of beer! Happy hunting all..
If you have Rev War sites loaded with iron and you have been killing with your AT MAX'S you better save your money and buy a real iron hunting detector. I got some AT MAX VIDEOS COMING ...Of course you could invite me up to hunt your sites ...I just found a stunning 33RD few weeks ago...
Any somewhat decent detector these days will detect iron if you run over it. If thats all you're hunting buy any detector over $200 and you're all set. Mainstream machines will need to do more than just that. The hardest environment is probably the beach will varying mineralization. Thats why the Manticore, Legend and Deus2 are at the top.
