The fitting costs $500. For most of us it would be a dream opportunity. He treated the experience like it was an annoyance with a condescending entitled attitude. From the beginning he seemed set on disliking the driver. Then he described his normal drive as a fade that he almost never hits on his other videos. I don’t mind Rick not liking a club, that’s his right & objectivity but you don’t treat a fitter who was literally bending backwards for him the way he did .. Just seemed he felt this was beneath him .. very bad look.
Rick has 100% come off as very egotistical and cocky the last couple years. There have been a lot of comments in his podcasts as well where he has talked about expecting certain treatment at events/access to VIP whatever/etc, on top of the way his persona has shifted in his videos. I too am in the group of no longer absorbing his content. Guy C. is still great though! Would honestly follow his own channel if he ever tried it.
Let me start by saying, I really enjoy Rick's video's and am a subscriber and fan. I am not a hater of Rick. I feel like this has been an opportunity for the haters to pile on. My issue with Rick's Fitting video was the fact that he kept trying to hit a shot that was not his normal shot and his attitude just got more and more negative. I felt like his negativity increased as the fitter called him out, very tactfully, by telling him to stop trying to hit the shot and just swing freely and let the fitter fix it. Rick said that his fear was a hook and proceeded to swing to not go left, instead of free swinging and let the fitter dial in the driver to the desired outcome. Guy did his best to help out, but it was just a strangely negative look for Rick. He has had way more clubs in his hands than I ever have. He would know the feel if he liked it or not immediately. I just feel like he could have worked with the fitter a little more.
I sadly agree, His content has gone weak.. his reviews are bland with a hint of bitchyness sarcasm about products, same as the podcasts he puts out.. and his collabs with other golfers have reduced to just his mate Guy. Many people think the same. He has nowhere near the views other youtubers with 2 million followers have on vids over a month old. I'm starting to think most of his followers are Ai 😂
People not seeing the point of his HiT video hes always trys to be honest in video especially when drivers cost 700 bucks and i saw his honest feed back i guess people want to see him over hype reviews. People forgot his Ping putter review or didn't watch it ping took it and completely changed how that putter was presented.
Missing the opportunity to have Micah, Wesley, George and Garret in the same grouping is absolutely criminal! Worst case they should’ve made sure Micah and Garret were in the same grouping. Give the people what they want!
I think in the back of garrett’s mind he’s upset his old boy grant is killing youtube with wes n ol georgy boy. Also wes hit the long putt with josh and i think that’s why he said i got to get back to work
There's a very good reason why Rick deleted the titliest video ! It had approx 45k views before it was removed. Rick made an asshole out himself. Not only was he unprofessional, but he was being critical of the driver when it was obvious he couldn't find the middle after many swings and shaft changes. Credit to the fitter for being patient and professional. I've always been a Rick fan until I unfortunately saw this video. I personally think Rick has lost the plot and needs a break from RU-vid.
I watched the whole RS titleist video and found it very interesting as I’ve been wanting to see him get fit. He’s made comments before he doesn’t like demo days and doesn’t completely believe in fittings. The nature of his club reviews (which I have watched for a very long time) cater more towards off the rack IMO. In the video he straight up says the new driver doesn’t sound or feel good. And emphasized that again. It’s like he wasn’t giving full trust to the fitter. The fitter was really pushing him to make a correction in his swing and he didn’t seem happy with that. He never seemed happy with the results during the video. There were a lot of comments praising his honesty but I imagine a lot went very negative on his swing
Also I remember thinking this is not a good look for Rick when I just watched Ian and Mikey at TXG get fit for titleist, praise the new drivers and have a really good experience. Made him seem bitter. But theyre in the selling business and he’s in the reviewing business so different outlooks
exactly the issue is his mechanics. it wasn't the clubs. seems to be tinkering with his swing a lot lately trying to play a fade instead of his typical big draw. not the best time for a fitting if in the middle of a swing change. best for all parties to delete the video. who cares. moving on.
Rick struggled to find middle, and that's a technical issue and not the club. Poor behaviour from Rick criticising the equipment. Titliest would not have been happy, and im sure have had a good laugh at him at the same time. Rick is fast losing credibility imo and I've always been a fan.
If Pete is on his game he can EASE be in first. On that note, Micah is able to go very low also. I believe Wes, George, Pete, Micah, Garrett, Brad, Sean, etc. maybe switch Brad and Sean before Micah and Garrett.
Garrett nailed somebody in Mesa. No one cares...except people from the area. Or they don't. But it was Dobson Ranch Golf Course in Mesa, AZ...a course the crew have featured on twice.
I watched the entire Shiels video and actually praised his honesty. All he said was he didn't like the feel of any of them throughout. Titleist probably asked him to delete. Not negative comments. They tried a ton of options and he said he couldn't find any that he liked. So it made the new GT not look like the fix all for everyone. Anyone saying he was an arse is just a baby. Rick didn't do anything wrong. Period
@nateedwardsongolf I watched all 45 mins. I was very intrigued since the new GT is blowing people away. He just kept stating that even when it was "hit good" it just didn't feel great. So he was searching for that feeling we all get when you flush one and he never got it. That was his only critique throughout was it's felt OK. Looked great, numbers were fine, just he never found that feeling that makes you say wow. He even admitted he hit it bad most the day but you usually always get that wow shot and it never came.
@@nateedwardsongolf I literally made a comment to the effect that I appreciated his honest review as sometimes people just buy the wow and don't check first.
I watched the whole video. He stated he wasn't swinging well at times. I felt he was doing a honest fit and I took that on that day he couldn't find anything that felt good to him that day. I prefer he was honest. Somedays l love my driver somedays I hate my driver. Its golf!
I was thinking about the whole 8/9 hole format of the Creatir Classic. At first I was like what the heck, why only 8 holes with a playoff, I want to see what these guys shoot for a full round on a PGA Tour course in championship conditions. But thinking a bit more I think it being only 8 holes regular play evens up the playing field between the top guys like Wes, George, Luke and other guys who are semi tour players. Not just from a pure ability perspective but also from a competition setting perspective. You dont really want anyone to fall off the rails with a few threatening the 90s over 18 holes. Its also clear from the field that they invited that its not the top 16 RU-vid golfers by ability. So there would always have been a somewhat unequal field. But so what, not everyone is there to be the winner as main goal. That said, I definitely would like to see a full round. But this is a good start to see if its viable to increase to 18.
Love your channel. Great summary. I would love to see you take some more time to breath and slow down. Maybe it is the editing style or something, but you are breathing through your words. Again, I know you are not a professional media guy, and that is why I like the channel, just like one of us talking about what we like. It is just a little fatiguing to listen to sometimes. This could totally be a me problem as well. Good luck and keep up the good work!
Rick kept saying he wasn't hitting the ball but all of them I seen and if you listen to the fitter he was hitting them good. I was a bit confused about it too
Rick has mentioned several times in his podcast that he isn't a fan of going through these fitting sessions because you have to sit through a bunch of hyperbole about a product that is rarely better than something the company released 5 years earlier. He should consider passing on these opportunities since he is probably walking in with a negative mindset but I understand where he is coming from.
Garrett has been playing well, recently, so I believe he will finish top 5. Wesley and George Bryan are honestly interchangeable; either one could finish first, and either one could finish 4th or lower. If Wesley is hitting fairways, he’s tough to beat, but he’s also good from the native area because he’s practiced those shots over and over. He will always be a threat on the golf course! Brad has not been playing as well as he usually does, and I believe that’s because he’s not been interested in the competition he’s up against. When Luke was with Good Good, Brad played well. I’m hoping Brad will take this match seriously because he has first place potential. Sean is also a good player, and could take first place, but only if Wesley, George, Brad, and Luke don’t play well. Luke has winning potential, but he needs to focus on his putting game. I’ve watched him miss many 1-3 foot putts, and it’s a crucial part of the game, if you want to win. I hope everyone playing all hit their lowest rounds ever! I want to see a good fight for the top spot! Good luck, may the best player win, and God bless y’all!
They aren't the types to have bad blood or even really create bad blood. I'm sure they're fine and if anything, it was just creative differences and direction of their products that differed them from one another.
@@Jayson_Tatum I didn’t mention anything about bad blood between them. I don’t fall for these misleading titles that are used for clicks, but I did listen, and it sounds like nothing’s going on.
Rank within range. 1/2/3- Wesley, George, Luke 4/5- Brad, Pete 6/7/8/9/10- Garret, Sean, Micah, FP, Busta Special Mention would be Gabby Golf Girl - she is likely to be most prepared for this event and could do really well. Leaving out other's because I don't know there game and leaving out Mac because of the thumb, I'm dealing with a similar injury and it's driving me nuts.
Rick doesn’t realize that he’s nowhere near as good as he thinks he is. Even Bubbie, still a beginner, is as good as he is. Also, Rick is English and boring.
Him being English has nothing to do with any of this... you make yourself look stupid by even saying that at all... I agree with the Bubbie point, but cmon man. Do better
he used to be better. his good rounds are just far less frequent now. he got the chipping yips. turned into a mental issue impacting rest of his game. i think he's genuinely a good guy but he just hates playing terrible golf on camera. which is normal behavior. he also seems very competitive. which leads to some bitterness i'd bet if gave him truth serum that there's a huge younger population taking over the space now. specifically the Good Good guys. he says all the right things but i guarantee it needles him that so many are copying what he's done for a decade and having more success.
1 Wes. Anything else is crazy! This isn't even that close. 2 George 3 Brad 4 Luke 5 Sean (2-5 are all close to each other. And even close to Wes, could beat him any 9 or 18 holes, but would lose almost every single multi round event) 6 Peter 7 Garrett 8 Micah 9... idk... Grand Horvat is in the 6-8 bucket w Peter, Garret, Micah
Outside of Wesley and George no one is even going to shoot under par. Amazing how u can get such opportunities being a so called scratch player that hacks it around the course and barely shoots par.
@@rjsieboldtable do u watch those guys? They don’t play anything tough, and when they do they are terrible. Brad was an amateur, and Kwon still have status? Oh that’s right they can only play on RU-vid now because not good enough to make it as a pro, and oh ya the Canadian tour is absolute shit.
Absolutely not true. Wesley finished 2nd in a PGA tour event this year. He is also WAY in the lead in their head to head matches. He has also WON on the PGA tour. When Wes is on, he can take it deep under par. I think he was 21 or 22 under in the Dominican Republic
I like your channel however the audio needs tweaked. Your room needs some sound deadening material added to get rid of the slight echoing. You talk so fast it is hard to hear sometimes. Your content is good!
I think it’s a combination of the lack of acoustic treatment and heavy compression/limiting of the audio from the video. When audio gets compressed it accentuates the sound of the room. He’s probably doing it to get the overall volume of the video as loud as possible. Definitely could be backed off a bit!
Nate, didn’t your mum tell you blue and green should never be seen? Whilst certain blues and greens can go together… these ones are exactly the ones that don’t….
We get it. Bryan bros are good, as they should be. God forbid people don’t take the chalk every tourney and put them 1-2. Also Brad and Sean 100% can hang with George without a doubt.
Is this the same Sean that has been in a lot of Kwon’s videos recently? Maybe I haven’t seen enough from him but based off of those videos he’s not even close to the same level as George and Wes.
Garrett didnt need to put his ratings out at all, and then to say it's based on his experience playing with them, is just a weird choice for a golf influencer to make. Just say "Hey I predict I will be at the bottom" or something innocuous, it's like he was trying to throw subliminals for no reason
The Titleist video wasn't about the comments, he just couldn't hit good shots with the various sets. It happens but his demeanor was off putting and I felt bad for the fitter. Rick wants to hit these weird baby fades but really should have just tried to hit his natural shot and the fitter could help from there.
Seems like the most common view. Most of the video comments sided with the fitter. He seemed like a really nice enthusiastic guy, while Rick was very unpleasant with him. Unfortunately, we handed the “authority” of club reviews to a guy that can’t hit a good tee shot. Idk why he is all of the sudden trying to hit a cut when he’s been a draw player for the past how many years? It was a fine display of golf ego.
I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again. The golf RU-vid space has shifted. People want to see good golf around good courses. Doesn’t matter if they have a huge following or not. Someone putting out quality golf on a good course with 1k subs is more enjoyable to watch than someone with 3 mil subs playing below average golf. Rick’s content has gone stale. Break 75 has had its run (even though breaking 75 as a pro shouldn’t even be a series) I personally think his HIT channel was a last ditched attempt a saving him. But even then listening to him explaining tech of clubs and analysing the data he gets wrong. Just shows how little effort goes into them if he can’t research the specs and tech behind a club and why they’ve done that. I personally don’t think Guy has done his ego any favours as he just blows smoke up his backside 99% of the time. Just my opinion. P.s ready for the Rick fans inc
The Rick video brought 2 two things to light. He is nowhere near as good as he thinks he is and he's an arse in real life. Bad look for him and his brand so he deleted it
Garett hasn't been a plus handicap in a while I think. When you play real OB rules without clean and place, he game drops RAPIDLY compared to the other guys.
How on earth is he putting Sean above Luke... I mean they literally just did an entire series together and Luke is so much better than Sean it's crazy.
Less so about a regression in skill, but for anyone who’s played high level comp golf, that itself is a skill that needs frequent sharpening for most people, which Brad himself admitted in a GM golf video not long ago
@@nateedwardsongolf Because whenever they play stroke play they suddenly have "bad days" and shoot 10-15 over. Only a few are consistently even close to par usually. Which is fine because RU-vidrs are great to watch but they absolutely stat pad their handicaps
I do believe there is some bad blood between the Bryan Bros and Good Good since George was part of the early GG videos. We don't really know what happened there.
george played in some videos, they asked if he wanted to join. george had his own channel, so no. that was it. at the time good good pretty much only was doing 6 hole challenges. george does mostly full rounds
@@stiggsmastathank you! I was going back and forth with some people on a different video claiming George was an official GG member in the beginning. They wouldn’t except the fact that he was just in the early videos.
How does he put him fourth ? There is no one on that list that can go lower . He could be 65 . Could be 75 as well but the guy can string birdies together and you said it , his shirt game and putting are next level
I watched that Shiels video. He was not being an asshole at all. It seemed just like if I went to a fitting and things were not going well. He was not hitting the ball well and he was not loving the clubs at first. Only people who should be made was Titleist since he didn’t make their clubs look good.
