If he held concerts like this I’d pay 500 bucks to sit at a table. It’d be a dream to sit and listen to his deep cuts played with everyone sitting quietly listening.
I got a cassette of "Garth Brooks" for road trips, since my parents spoke so good of him. I was never into country until I listened to that tape, which is now in my top 3 fav albums ever!
@@SeboltLawnLandscape I think that's standard for true fans who go deep into an artist's work. Alabama Clay and Everytime It Rains are my favorites from the first album, and this live performance is excellent. Garth Brooks and Enrique Iglesias are my top two favorite artists (different genres of course), and the same was true for Iglesias' songs that didn't get released as singles or got played on the radio, especially stuff from his Spanish albums.
Garth is one of those artists where it's a must to listen to the whole album. I would've missed so many great songs like this one if I only listened to the more well-known classics.
Shout out from Oklahoma! Love all your music, Garth. It doesn’t rain much anymore, but love it when it does. You’re an awesome artist.God has truly blessed you. I began playing the piano at the age of four, by ear. I later learned to play from sheet music. Your book is the only country music I own, and love it. Since my dad died I don’t play, but still appreciate true talent when I hear it!
We learned about gratitude and humility - that so many people had a hand in our success, from the teachers who inspired us to the janitors who kept our school clean... and we were taught to value everyone's contribution and treat everyone with respect. And I want to specially appreciate you for being a big fan. Thanks for your love and nice comments on my post, it means a lot to me and I would like to know more about you and how long you have been a good fan of mine Okay then I will direct you to my gmail address platform where we talk more on my leisure hour. I really love this version. That one line he adds towards the end “It’s raining on me/and I love the rain” isn’t in the studio version but I think it adds a nice touch. It shows even though the relationship didn’t work out, there’s fondness in the memory. Sort of a “don’t be sad it’s over, smile because it happened” sort of thing. It’s subtle, but I think it’s great.
I love this man!! I have from the first time I heard his voice. Then I saw him on television and I thought he's so good looking! I love everything about him!
These were the last few years. That real country music was made and played on mainstream radio as a whole. By 1995 or so. Country was ULTRA-POPified. And now. This once beautiful, emotional, and heartfelt music form has been dead for years. Im speaking in regards to modern radio,
Yet there are mainstream songs with similar and or better messages still around. Been a garth fan since day 1. There are still modern good country songs

ya know as much as I know about this guy and all his songs, it's ones like this and others that are not on his greatest hits albums that I never knew he had done or even existed. I think that largely has to do with the fact that til mr. Brooks came along I never listened to country and couldn't stand it because of that twang and typical sound and typical lyrics that comes with every country song it seems and also I would have been just a tad too young to remember all his songs especially during the late 80s and early 90s
People say hes pop country but dont realize how traditional some of his music like this song is. Pop country artists just dont sound like this. And it's sad.

Stuck in an airport in Austin, all of the flights are delayed And as the rain keeps fllin' the mem'ries keep callin' me back To another time and place Back to a rainy dy in Oklahoma, she was workin' at this roadside cafe And it was just her and me and looked like it would be At least 'till the storm rolled away I played "Please Come to Boston" on the jukebox She said hey that's my favorite song The next thing I knew the song was through And we were still dancin' along And with that look in her eyes she pulled from me Then she pulled off that apron she wore And with her hand in mine we turned off the sign And locked the rain outside the door Every time that it rains I can hear her heart callin' It rains, I can see that dress fallin' The storm clouds roll on, still the memory remains Every time that it rains One late rainy night I got a phone call So I went back to see her again And through the dnce we both stumbled and with the buttons we fumbled So we decided just to call it at friends If we ever had a thing now it's over and only the memory remains Of a roadside cafe on a September day I relive every time that it rains Every time that it rains I can hear her heart callin' It rains, I can see that dress fallin' The storm clouds roll on, still the memory remains Every time that it rains
Do you have him performing "Not Counting You" at this show? It's one of my favorite songs of his. I call it his "forgotten hit" because it is hardly mentioned when they list his many hits, despite the fact that it went to number 2 on the charts.
I recently met a girl as a hurricane was hitting the coast and in the poring rain we sat in her cat and talked. Now she's moved on and moved away but I still pass the place we were from time to time and still see her car there and feel the same feeling I did when she held my hand that dau

It's a TNN; On Stage" episode, probably from 1989 when he first started appearing on T.V.. He did "Much Too Young", "Not Counting You", and "If Tomorrow Never Comes" on this same broadcast I do believe
if you do not like newer style country music dont listen to it, i am so sick of you people talking out your asses about this is real country the new stuff...blah blah blah blah blah...... get over yourselves, even these classic country artists for the most part like the "new" stuff
Man, those first two albums... I thought it was the second coming of Hank Williams and a truly respectable evolution of country music. 'Course from that point on Garth turned out to just be Richard Marx with short hair. Cryin' shame.
