Such an honest and kind guy! He looked so relaxed, he wasn't dressed too fancy, he just came by as a regular person and that's what gave him that friendly feel! I got choked up by his story since it's so important to learn from.

So much respect for Garth for taking time off to be a stay at home parent. It's definitely the hardest job on earth and yet rewarding when you know you had some positive influence in your kids' lives. I only wish more parents could do it.

Lived in Hendersonville Tennessee!Husband was in United states coast guard, passed away last year. We adored him back in the early mid 90's . He saw a man & woman with a baby stroller in late October walking down the road at night. He picked them up took them home... came back couple hours later with a new used car full of groceries. Walked up to their door and humbly handed them the keys and said Merry Christmas. Gotta love him

Everyone has an opinion, and haters are gonna hate....but, I give Garth a lot of credit for being honest. He realized his "marriage" wasn't the way it should've been. Staying in a marriage with someone you realize you weren't meant to be with isn't fair to them or to you. He did the right thing. I wish him & Trisha all the happiness they both deserve!
They always look so happy. I am really happy for them. Him and his first wife are still friends and I am sure that, that includes Trish. And that is good because they have 3 children together and that my friends is super great for all of them. Trish trust Garth and she knows that Garth wouldn't hurt her for the world, nor she him. That's what true love is.
I love how he keeps referring to her as "Miss Yearwood." I know they're married now and everything, but that's still so sweet to me for some reason. :)
Ellen, thank you soooo much for having Garth on your show. I've seen Garth 15 times in concert, plus at a intimate gathering in the S.F. Bay Area when he was about to release his 1st Christmas album. Garth leaves his fans exhausted BUT begging for more at his concerts. He somehow connects with each & every fan. Simply put, he's amazing. I'm really hoping he tours again. You know that him and Trisha where knocking boots back when he worked with her back on her debut album in 1990. They have done other duets through out the years. And when they sing together you could see the way he looks at her. He has had feelings for her long before 2000. She was married and divorced as well. It is great to find true love.

Well he did admit in the 90s of cheating on sandy while they were married. So if that's the case I would imagine he did have an affair with "Ms. Yearwood". He just doesn't speak of it because it would ruin her "classy" reputation.
ask him why he calls her Ms Yearwood and he will tell you that he has always called her that from the day they met, first out of respect and now because it just feels right and Trisha is happy with it, even when they joke about him not using her first name.
I don't know Sandy but every time I hear Garth or Trisha gush about each other or hear Trisha refer to Garth & Sandy's daughters as "our girls" I picture her face and wonder what SHE thinks. It's amazing how she is forgotten in all of this.
I love how he talks about Trisha Yearwood. I always thought she was a husband stealer....bc I thought it was too convenient that they got married after the divorce...but when you know, you know. It took them decades to become a couple. Man, that's waiting! Garth is a good man.
He got really big. He just was not himself. He seemed depressed. I remember him at the Kennedy Center honors and he just looked out of shape and could barely sing. Now he looks like himself again. I am not trying to be mean, I am just happy Garth is back.

SUSI; you should really check you facts before you comment. Garth's ex-wife has continued to be MOM and Garth has been part of their lives on a daily basis, because he chose to. Sandy has been battling breast cancer since 2006l, and they have stayed close as parents, and co-parenting the whole time. His girls call Trisha 'Bonus Mom' as stepmom, not Mom. Sandy moved the girls to Oklahoma and Garth and Trisha followed so that they could be close and he could be part of their lives on a daily basis. Sandy Mahl, his first wife, is an American businesswoman and had contributed to Garth Brooks career as a songwriter as well .

Calling her 'Miss Yearwood' is a little weird, and I'm not a fan of the religious (but at least he doesn't push it on people). As for cheating, or sticking with his high school sweetheart even after meeting his soulmate, and staying faithful until after they were separated etc... have you guys never heard "In Another's Eyes"? He literally wrote that song for them to address this - his marriage wasn't working out and he wanted to be with Trisha instead (who was also married to the guy from The Mavericks), but their public image wouldn't let them just leave their partners. Who cares though, I just want to listen to his music.
