My Dad Passed Away June 13 This Year &&' I'm Only 12 Years Old. Every Time I Hear This Song, I Cry Because We Use To Sing This Together All The Time .

My son was in the marine's for 5 years,when he was due to come home he passed away,so we went to the airport to get his body,and this song had came on the radio as we were waiting.so everytime I hear this song it reminds me of my baby

This is the last song my daddy could recall when he was so sick. I was taking care of him in the hospital and he was a music man to the bone. I was playing songs for him trying to bring him comfort .. I remember the moment so clearly.. he said "awe I love this song, baby" this song makes bawl, but i also feel close to him when i listen to it. I miss you so much dad. Almost two years without my favorite person in the world. My best friend. The sweetest badass. The kindest most fun guy. And the best dad in the whole world. If love could have saved him he would have lived forever. I love you daddyo... Forever 56. ❤️‍🩹

Today is Oct. 10, 2018. I drive Uber in Nashville and surrounding areas. I picked up Gary today in Hendersonville, Tennessee, and took him and his wife to the Nashville Airport. He was so cool...he was nice...very good guy!!! I was already a tremendous fan, and after meeting and riding with him in my van for nearly 45 minutes, and actually talking with him, I`m even more of a fan!!! He`s super-cool, and very underrated as a country artist!!!

My mom and dad were both at the concert that the video was filmed at its crazy to think about how long ago its been. R.I.P. dad fly high

I just found out my husband of 19 years has mestatic lung & liver cancer. It's awful. This song brings me to tears and really will here in the near future. God Bless anyone who read this.

Gary Allen a singer who should get more credit than he does...so full of passion when he sings

Gary Allan is awesome. Have had 'The One' stuck in my head for days. My son Jacob went to his concert in Seattle Friday night and had front row seats. He made short video clips and texted them to me. I wish I could have gone with him but I live in Missouri 😢 I watched the video for 'The One' before this one and tried to sing along. I know every word. But it brought tears to my eyes and i couldn't get through it all without crying. It's so pretty and gets me emotional every time. I like every song but that one is my biggest favorite

I learned of Gary's loss when he talked about it at the Red Rocks concert in Colorado. (To date I enjoy "Airplanes" because he had a "re-do" while videoing it. That gave us extra joy). It was a sad moment for me to hear his "pain" as I had recently lost my "6th daughter" to suicide. Today marks her anniversary. I, my husband and her 3 children (that now live with us) still hurt but we keep moving forward. You have to. She was a beautiful person. For those who question whether they loved you in the beginning, please stop that nonsense for you see, when someone gets to that dark spot in their lives, they no longer are able to recognize that there are others out there that love them and care for them. They have fallen into a black box, sort of speak, and when the final lid of the box is closed, there's nothing but darkness and they cannot see AT ALL. Their fears, their sadness, their confusion leads to desperation and desperation leads to death by suicide. Rest assured, upon their death, they still loved those that loved them. Gary, be strong and keep singing. I keep watching for another show at the Rocks! My prayers are with you and yours.

i have to say that gary allan is one of the most underrated country singers of today.he is pure country along the lines of a george strait.maybe some of these so called country artist should take a listen to what really country is about

I love this man. He's an a amazing artist and I lost my brother, possibly my father and grandma to suicide. No on knows the pain of that kind of loss unless you gone threw and it's always lurking. Be good to yourself.

This song brings back such amazing memories for me. My home is very close to what used to be a military airbase. It's now a regular small airport. But when this song first came out my grandson and I would lay in our front yard. The airplane would fly right over us. It was so close we read the writing on the bottom of the plane. I seems like it had letters on it. My grandson was around 6 years old then. That's what I was paying attention to. His expression was priceless. He's now 18 years old. Thankful for those memories.

Just seen Gary Allan live in Reno last night, amazing show, I got a chance to meet him before the show, super nice guy and real down to earth, one of country music's best and most under rated performers.

I know it by hear cuz thats all he wanted me to play in the car, yes I am a fan so yes I had the CD. He passed away in 2010, he was on the make a wish deal he picked you, but they said they couldn't do it. So instead we went to sea world in Austin. But that ok. Congratulations to Gary Allen on his recent engagement

I just saw him perform in Helotes,Tx. I was soooo pumped to see his concert and he absolutely didn't disappoint. I've been lucky enough to have seen some big time Country hitters like King George, Dwight, Kenny, Garth, Tracy, Reba, Hank Jr, etc. Gary, in my humble opinion put on the best show out of all the artists I listed. I'll be front row for his 2023 San Antonio Stock Show performance.

My dad is a flight attendant and he took me to one of Gary's concerts once. My parents were divorce is the late 2000s and last year I decided to stop visiting him because he was giving me too much emotional damage. I know he was hurtful to me, but when I hear this song I can still remember the good times when he showed his good side. Sometimes I do see planes and wonder if that is him since There is a major AirPort near my city.

This song is so special to me. It tells a very distinct and interesting story. My mom’s parents got divorced after only being married for about five years. My grandfather became an airline pilot and he left my grandmother and that was the end of them. She became an alcoholic and my mom and my aunt have recounted times where she would go outside and lay on the car or in the lawn or the driveway sometimes. She would just stare up at the sky. When they would ask her what she was doing she would tell them that she was “watching for airplanes” wondering where he was constantly. She passed away in 2014 and I still keep her belongings in my car. Her lucky number was 13 and I have a 2013 car that I bought the same day I got my first tattoo for her. This song randomly comes on the radio from time to time randomly when I drive.
