I think that second round knockdown hurt Spence a little bit. Look at his legs and demeanor when he gets up. I think he lost his confidence after that! That was his first time ever hitting the canvas. It was a lot to deal with at that moment. Furthermore, he realized that Bud was as strong or stronger than he was as the fight moved on. I think he started realizing he wasn't prepared.
pain wise i dont think it hurt him, more so caught him off balance lunging, but it definitely fucked with his confidence. Think he realized he was in there with a real killer who doesnt ball up when he tries to turn up the pressure. Bud sat down on all that and countered damn near everything. Crawford's "fighting" eyes are ELITE. if you look at those exchanges, Bud's eyes are processing everything. Spence was throwing just to throw and that was not the case for Crawford. Bud drew him in toward the ropes because he knew that that was where Errol was most comfortable letting his hands go, if you've seen any of his other fights. Classic performance by Bud. Waay more lopsided than good. However, best boxing night of my life. Errol has always been overrated in terms of overall skill. Thought Bud would smoke him if he stayed off the ropes and stayed focussed defensively.
