Agree. Would love to see him already vs Haney. Haney will likely outbox Regis. He’ll control distance. Haney needs to fight someone who has an advantage over him and prove his IQ to beat someone is real. Not just cause you longer and faster
@@UrbanBDKNY I think most people expect exactly what you do in the Haney vs Regis fight. However, I am not completely convinced that he can control the distance and avoid big shots from Regis. I think Loma, being the much smaller fighter was able to walk Haney down the second half of that fight and hurt him once or twice. Granted Regis is no Loma, but Haney was also cracked by Linares in the 11th rd and the bell literally saved him as he staggered back to his corner. I completely agree that he needs to fight someone who is perceived to be as good or better to solidify his status. Shame he decided to not fight his mandatory Shakur and lost the WBC strap as a result.
@@atheistghostbuster6395I m not a fan of Haney boxing style but I respect him. I think he learned A LOT from Loma fight. I think Loma won that fight and his peers and the fans that night did too. If that's not motivation to get better I don't know what it I think what he learned that night made him better. He knows there are "levels" out here. Before he thought he was on another level and what we saw was Loma was the better boxer and Haney won because he was basically the champ and in a close fight they went with the champ. Loma made a mistake to take off the 12th round. Had he kept hammering at him like he did in 10 and 11 he wins the fight but no body really won the 12th and so Haney won the fight I would actually like to see Haney lose. I think most of these undefeated fighters need to lose. We need to get off this undefeated non sense that keeps us from having great fights. To be fair to Haney he does talk and fight who he typically says he will. He have Shakur a bad offer knowing he could lose but he still have him the offer
@UrbanBDKNY I thought it was a draw, but I could understand giving the champ the benefit of the doubt in many of the close rounds. I've always said you need to beat the champ convincingly and leave no doubt if you expect to get a decision. I don't know if he learned anything because he hasn't fought since. However, I would never deny that he is top 3 lightweights in the world. So, Bill Haney recently revealed in an interview with The Boxing Voice that there was never a percentage offer, but rather a flat fee that they offered Shakur. He did not say what the fee amount was, but it certainly stripped away that talking point that many Haney fans had been running with, and Bill never corrected the record until just a few days ago. Let me know if you can't find the link to that interview, and I will send it to you. My personal opinion is that the Haney's knowing that Shakur would activate his mandatory, made a calculated decision to set the narrative by making an offer (really just preliminary talks / not a contract) knowing that Shakur would refuse it and they could say they tried to make the fight. Shakur had no reason to accept a low ball offer when he knew he could just force the fight through the mandatory & petition for a decent purse split. That's exactly what he did, and when the WBC in response gave Haney the ultimatum to either fight his mandatory Shakur or move up and fight Regis at 140, Haney elected to take the latter and wanted to keep the 135 strap. I don't think he or his father ever intended to fight Shakur, and it was all show. They have been negotiating with Regis for 2 months, which means the talks they were having team Shakur was all bullshit. If you listen to Bill in that interview, he says he called Shakur's team and asked them what was on the table and that they started with that 50/50 shit.

Nah Antuannae was suppose to have the Puello fight prior to Rolly getting that shot. It was suppose to be a done deal. I don’t know what happened in regards to him not being the replacement for Puello to fight Rolly. Never made sense to me. He was like 2 in the WBA.
