Great to hear this. Was so sad to hear of Gary's passing. A hugely talented writer and performer. Also comes across as a very likeable gentleman. Thank you.
Very excellent interview with one of the finest composers in history. A great interviewer always gives the artist a chance to talk and you were great. Such as terrible terrible loss. RIP Gary Brooker
Thank you for that lovely remark. It was a rare honor to be able to interview the legendary Gary Brooker. May his memory and music live on long after all of us have gone.
Gary Brooker one of the best vocalists of all his generations the past 50 years, listen to I am the only one on2017 album Novum a pure vocal lesson to any singer, simply jawdropping and at over 70 something of age,a true living legend that has earned his reputation
It wasn't the best procol harum album but as they are my favourite band of all time I'm not going to argue about the great man.So sad he passed away since your comments were made.
Wonderful interview; many thanks! Loved Gary and Procol since spring '67 and ever since. Gary was brilliant and a great guy. I never missed Procol when they played the New York metropolitan area. The last time was in 2019 at the City Winery in NYC; I never saw a Procol concert that wasn't great.
R.I.P. Garry Brooker ... als Künstler hinterlässt du eine nicht zu füllende Lücke. "A whiter shade of Pale" ist eines der schönsten Lieder dieser Welt, ich danke dir dafür.
How wonderful to listen to the great man a pure joy and my thanks to you for this wich I will listen to again.I have been obsessed with Procol Harum since the beginning in 1967.I have seen them live 8 times and was due to see them just a few days before his sad death, but it had already been cancelled due to his ill health.God has just booked the top of the bill for his concert in heaven..Thanks again for this much appreciated. RIP GARY and thank you for the music, you won't be forgotten I promise.
PRODIGAL STRANGER, vastly underrated album and the moment I learned of the death of the great drummer, B.J. Wilson. ECHOES IN THE NIGHT had also reunited Brooker, Reid, Fisher, and WIlson. Another underrated album. Gary Brooker is the only musician, song writer, and singer that I have every mourned over. And for many reasons.
…It is really hard to accept that he is gone and his voice now silenced in real Life - shall we make it go alive infinitely by playing and enjoying his/their music as often as possible, by visiting any and all of their recordings as part of our daily Lives - ongoingly?
Fair criticism all. In my defense it was one of my first videos and almost 3 years later I've come a bit further (though still not where I wish to end up). Hope you listen to a more recent show and fingers crossed you'll see the difference.
