This rendition of Gary Brooker singing "A Whiter Shade of Pale" was recorded at Guildford Cathedral during a charity event for the victims of the Tsunami. Filmed by the Freehand Video Production team.
Дорогой Gary Brooker, я преклонясь перед твоим изумительным талантом, с самого 1967г. прошлого столетия я твой неизменный поклонник, Procol Harum - это высокий класс ! Спасибо тебе, Мастер ! Rest in Peace... (!)
Disappointed no to see or hear an organ in this clip. Very good performance however. RIP Gary Brooker. Your music & legend lives on forever in our hearts.
RIP Gary. You were an amazing musician. This is a beautiful song and you are an amazing singer. This was my childhood. Absolutely brilliant. I miss my brothers (both deceased )and we discussed the beauty of this song. It has so many brilliant memories. So lucky to have had you in my lifetime. Condolences to your family.
This song brings back so many memories. It's not rock and roll, though it was shoe horned in as such back in the day. It stands by itself as just a beautiful ballad. Will always love it!
It seems like his mannerisms are exactly the same 50 years ago when he was a young lad LOL. I love how he closes his eyes I just love everything about this group and him
I have always loved Gary Brooker. Since the first time I heard this song in 1967, when I was 9 years old, I have felt like Mr Brooker somehow took part of me and magically put it into that song. That very first chord instantly grabs me in a way I absolutely cannot explain. EVERY TIME. It seems to own me somehow. Always has, always will.
I just love Gary Brooker! He is a very talented musician in every right of music! Thank you, Gary, for bringing wonderful music all of these years! His voice is just as wonderful as it was when we were younger. I miss the organ!!!
I listen to this song every morning and I just found a new one. I haven't seen this one. I don't know if I'm addicted to the words the song or just the voice of Gary Booker..
Epitome of a timeless song. Ask someone what decade this song is from, they'd most likely guess it's from the 21st century. I'm also amazed Gary Brooker can still hit the notes written, unlike similar musicians his age. Love it.
It took Matthew Fisher 40 years but he finally got credit for the distinctive organ solo which the courts agreed was original and not lifted from Bach or anyone else.
@@sherrismith1520 …feel like it’s going to be easier for me to sing…because of melody is very simple. But I can’t do it as the way he does and I’ve found in him. He’s got the voice, Deeper & Wider. This was the point being different from I do. So I should give the special thanks to gentle friend Sherry of mine. from 🇯🇵😃Thank u again
Just watched a video of their concert in Denmark 2006...with the exception of orchestral arrangement this song brought me right back to the first time I heard it...RIP Sir Gary, rest well...
Fabulous song, showing the benefit of an education in "classical" (baroque specifically here) music. Brooker sounds almost the same as when this song first came out.
My Sympathy in hearing of his loss he was fantastic singer and made Whiter Shade Tops his voice made it. Blessings to you always RIP. Amen A great loss
I see you do this song and every time you do it, it gets more beautiful each time you do it! I've been listening to it since I was 10 years old! Thank you for such a lovely song! A song for all time! Carol

With the exception of the sax solo, this is what I call the Denmark arrangements as played on tour with the Danish Radio Orchestra. Superb arrangement with choir too.

I am 71 years old now, and this song "A Whiter Shade of Pale", still rings loud and strong in my heart, since I heard it first in my high school days. In this rendition of the song by Gary Brooker, in his senior years, the spirit of the song was expressed even better. The original instrumentations in this music: piano, organ, guitar and drums all touch the soul so much in such a way that it is almost hypnotizing. Indeed, this is one of greatest music ever composed and sang. I just heard that Gary Brooker has passed away. It is sad that such real music maker can no longer be here with us on earth, but nevertheless his voice and his music will perhaps forever remain.
Going back to the 1960's, there were hosts of Great Popular Music flooding the Air, and our Ears; however, there were certain scores of music that were hard to define. "A Whiter Shade Of Pale" was in that league. It was a piece of Music that you could make Love to, while it was Playing; or, perhaps, Playing it to Honor your Dead Military Friend, losing his life in Service. I believe that the maturity of Gary Brooker had much to do with that, and a piece of Music, that we, and so many young artists honor. today... ~~CR~~
I don't know if he'll ever make it to America to Chicago. I live in The burbs and he's on my bucket list. It's just that this song starts my day everyday.
