I love this scene where Stretch Willoughby keeps pulling off Ma Hawkins’ apron while she’s busy in the kitchen. Gary Cooper had a flair for comedy.

How low our morals (sexual and otherwise) have fallen. I thoroughly enjoy Gary Cooper, but there’s no one like Walter Brennan❤

I agreed with MIkeKemp9877 comment. The script was very well done to match up two different types of stars in such a delightful plot! Both Cooper and Oberon were excellent in the ways they underplayed their parts. Wonderful film!

i remember a book by garson kanin about hollywood.goldwyn had arranged at great cost a teaming of hot stars oberon and cooper.he had a writers meeting which kanin was present where the assembled team frankly admitted they couldnt come up with an idea for the two totally different type of stars that would be a hit.goldwyn grumbled i dont know what i pay you for ! he then said ill get a real writer in.he phoned in front of them ben hecht then the highest paid writer in hollywood! after some discussion about the stars it got down to money! goldwyn agreed to pay hecht 30000 dollars! ben gave him his idea brilliant said goldwyn cheques on the way! we sat in awe waiting for the brilliant idea! ben says the cowboy and the lady! go write it! leo mccarey poor soul then had to find a film based on bens title! 5 words on the phone not even at the meeting got ben a fortune! he had the modesty not to ask for a credit ! the movie was a big hit .goldwyn said hechts a genius! thats truley how we made movies then!

Excellent movie but god, commercials every 5 minutes, it ruins it, and almost makes it unwatchable.
