Paul Gadd was very good at touching people, isn't that why he was imprisoned. It really saddens me to the core to know that one of my music heroes was a sick pervert. As a 12 yr old in 1973, hearing Gary Glitter songs coming through my radio speakers was very thrilling and exciting. I was also into Slade, Sweet and Suzi Quatro and especially STATUS QUO. Funny, they all start with an S. Elton John's "Saturday Night's Alright for Fighting" still blows my mind, as it did in 1973. T-Rex had a stack of great Glam tunes. Bowie had Ziggy and Aladdin Sane in 1972/73. I thought that "Diamond Dogs" was a very clever concept album by Bowie, it contains "Rebel Rebel" which depending on my fluctuating mood, I sometimes rate as my favourite song of all time. "Rubber Bullets" by 10cc impressed me in 1973 and still does. Roxy Music are on the very intelligent end of the spectrum of Glam. Alvin Stardust's "My Coo Ca Choo" was the biggest selling Single of 1974 in Australia. In 1975, it was "Fox on the Run" by Sweet. Glam still had residual effects on new Wave artists and 80's hair bands as well. After all Glam is the shortened version of the word Glamorous. When PUNK came along, I was like a kid in a lolly shop. PUNK inspired the most fertile period in music history. NEW WAVE!!!!!!!!
@@alanstrom2221 I just don't get the guy, I mean he hits different to other pedophiles, I mean he wasn't into really little kids but 10 year old was his youngest but that's just as bad I guess but he comes off as genuine and modest and seemed to genuinely like people (not just young girls) but people in general and he tried various positive things like kicking the booze and working hard to keep healthy and working hard to stay relevant and make a comeback he seemed like a down to earth guy who was genuinely appreciative of his success to have been found out to have molested young girls and sexually assault them he not only let himself down but a lot of fans who believed in him
My uncle passed away two years ago and he was a massive Gary glitter fan he was 63 at his funeral we never played any off his songs for obvious reasons such a shame for the glitter band they were innocent and rock n roll part 1 and 2 is belter of a song just a shame that monster sung it.😢
@@NECRONOMICON7-7-7 you sound like a fan of the glitter band, but let's have it right how thick do you have to be not to know what tf going on, and personally i think some would've probably been involved due to being of the same ilk ie bcr/gg/gb/wrong en's just saying btw

6:17 “How will you celebrate the millennium?” He’d be in prison during the millennium. As he was convicted of 54 charges of downloading child porn on 12th November 1999 and released on 11th January 2000 after serving two months of a four month sentence. What a shocking fall from grace.
Look at his reaction to Cliff Richard being mentioned ...i bet they had alot of fun together in that Elm Hotel ! Its beyond me that Cliff escaped the spotlight that was put on this monster and Saville !
@@yetidodger6650 cliff richard name was on list at elm house as kitty where children were taken from care home for sex. Most people on list are dead now ted heath. Look up elm house guest house for the info. The police didnt raid his house for no reason. He has since become a barbados citizen so he can never be sent back to uk. It will come out when he dies like savile
Looks like that other wrong'un Harry Webb has walked quietly away at the moment from his crimes until he shakes off his mortal coils and the evil establishment throw him under the bus like Savile to stop any investigations into them going any further bringing scrutiny on them!
@@anthonyharty1732 Cliff was a member of the "Monday Club" that was involved in some heinous activities! That's why he scarpered to the Caribbean giving up his citizenship knowing full well the chickens were coming home to roost. I just hope one day Jill Dando's family get justice for what was done to her because she had definitely found out something and there are those who believe a certain person we know ordered the hit!
Without doubt, THE most retarded thing I've ever heard, Thank feck you're not a judge or have any kind of responsibility for children or anyone, for that matter, FFS! WATF?
Gary Glitter made one mistake and it cost him dearly. In the 70s he became big friends with Jimmy Saville. He may have had issues before that but Saville nurtured them and knew Glitter was one of his own.
Facile argument: you're suggesting someone does something bad THEN releases music. GG released his music first, then 20 years later did what he did. There's a huge difference. I'm not defending the man: I'm defending his music. The two are not the same. It's different if you're young, and only listening to him for the first time, but GG let millions of us older fans down with his crimes. But I'll still put his music on when the wife and kids are out...
What's that got to do with his music? If a man commits a crime, it doesn't make his music suddenly crap. Yeah, he did a bad thing, but liking his music doesn't mean I approve of what he did. Get a brain: you'll find it useful.
Cannot stand Clive Anderson, never forgotten about when he interviewed the Bee Gees and they all walked out mid interview, he could have learnt a lot from Parky, best interviewer hands down
Terrific man, he reveals it all here. Unlike so many others, he never had any dirty secrets. Just can't understand why the world just decided to hate him!
That startled look started when someone walked in on his fiddlings. Anderson was way too respectful compared to The Bee Gees. I bet his Police Record is far more full these days!!
Too easy on Gary the kiddie fiddler at least Barry Gibb had a bit of respect integrity and honour something that Anderson lacks and Glitter should be known as Gutter - Barry was right he doesn't tolerate tossers and kiddie fiddler's...
And if you think it's so shit, what are you even doing on this page? You're like one of those guys who says he hates gays, but spends all his time in gay bars, LOL. Normal people don't watch stuff they don't like:)
Caravaggio murdered a man: the art world quite happily separates a man's art from his life, so why shouldn't the pop world? Glitter made some great great records, his personal life wasn't so great: so what?
Glitter was brilliant in his day and the version of rising sun was epic. Clive Anderson is one of the worsed chat show hosts on tv..trying to get cheap laughs out of rude comments. It all back fired with the bee gees when they walked off the show. Exactly what glitter should have done...after giving Anderson a slap that is. Rock on GG
I wouldn't claim to be a fan, but he made good music. And he was convicted of a crime in Vietnam, and then he was imprisoned. And he served his sentence, and then he was released. And now he is living in England. And I wish he would make music again. The music he made in the 1970's was just great.
I think Clive Anderson might of known a few things about GG but not the full extent. However, Clive is the king of wind up and great man off screen. He loves a banter with people, if you give it back to him and wind him up in a jovial way; he respects you for it, he has an infectious laugh. He tried to have fun with the Bee Gees but their ego's on the show was ridiculous.
what the actual fuck? You do realise that he was a fucking pederast, right? Hopefully, six years is long enough for you to realise you re a deluded.... er... person?
Glam Rock. The name influenced by Glamis Castle and Somerset Belenoff ... Research it. If true, it's far more chilling than anything Gary Glitter ever did. Thanks.
Wow, you sure do watch a whole LOT of stuff you supposedly "don't like": some of it over and over again LOL. How's that Spiderman costume coming along LOL?
Redfield 100% talent wasn't needed back then? What do you mean back then? The 90s, 70s, what? Regardless, music has only gotten worse over the years anyway so if it wasn't needed then, it certainly isnt now. Show us your musical talent. You are so quick to criticise his talent despite the fact he was actually pretty good and has made some great songs yet we have yet to judge yours.
@@invinciblereason1618 musical talent Ure having a bubble poor singer couldn’t play an instrument . Not hard to write a song when it comes to the chorus repeat the same shit
