Part 2: • Gary Moore - His Best ... This is my tribute to Gary Moore. The video shows his pure technical skill, not the feeling and emotion he puts in his songs. Enjoy :) Sry for the black parts, these are due to synchronisation issues.
I watch him play and listen to him in the car and I get brought close to tears. There is something in his playing that reaches this emotional place in me that nobody else can touch. I would have loved to jam with him.
HE HAS IT ALL! GREAT TECHNICAL SKILL, GREAT SONG WRITING ABILITY ,GREAT VOCALS, GREAT TONE AND THE GREATEST EMOTION THAT EVER POURED OUT FROM A GUITAR! I MISS HIM SO!
I can't listen to the Still got the Blues solo without getting goosebumps. He just puts so much passion into it, you can almost physically feel the notes.
Gary Moore my idol. Now that you gone, you will be hear in my heart. You will allways be my inspiration and my hero. Thank you for all the joy you given me for all these years and i will never forget you or your music. If you can read this in some way i just wanna say, Thank you very mutch and im very happy that i had the uppertunity to see you live 4 times and that i will never forget it. Rest In Peace The King of the Blues Mr Gary Moore
Speed , soul and passion, GM had it all. I am so thankful I got to see him live on 'Victims of the Fury' with Sammy Hagar 'Standing Hampton' tour. Gary had so many great licks, and the power was amazing. Gone way too soon, RIP Gary, miss you alot!
What a loss to music, period. My child hood hero, gone in the blink of an eye. God bless you Lord Moorester, your music lives on, inspiring the next kid with a broomstick and a dream:-)). R.I.P.
Im always gonna love you, if loving means forever. RIP My Hero and Guitar Idol....U will be missed and thank you for ur music over the years......From Bahrain.
Still got the blues + Parisian walkways + Still in love with you + I had a dream + Trouble ain't far behind = a few of my favorites. Still got the blues though, some of those licks are terrifyingly emotional!
I didn't realise Gary Moore was so dynamic. I've always regarded him as an excellent guitar player, but not being a big fan I have never heard him play at speed. He does this excellently, but I do prefer his slower, bluesier solos which he does so well.
it is always to pleasure to here those masters eddie van, steve vai, gary moore, jeff beck, joe satriani, jason becker, and stevie ray vaughan and many more...they are pro boys :)
thanks for pointing that out i never really thought of that, it's one thing to have the technical ability, but to incorporate into great musical prowess like Gary's... it's unbelievable
As far as studio recordings are concerned I would recommend ' Still in Love With You ' from the Thin Lizzy 'Night Life ' album .Also Gary's first solo album ,'Back on the Streets ', is full of brilliant lead work .One particular song on this album where Gary sounds soulful is 'Song For Donna '.
Yes indeed, it certainly is. A great aspect of his playing is the musically use of advanced techniques. For example: On rare occasions, you'll hear a quick muted sweep picking, but just as a phrasing subtlety.
What I love is that Gary is must as much about the picking hand as the fretting hand. I hate most of the "shredders" for this reason. I want that pick attacking the strings. I don't want one pick and all fretting hand. No matter how fast Gary played, you heard EVERYTHING.
Gary Moore shows were quite intense back in the day...he really gave everything, every time. Some of the solos here are from the " tribute to Phil Lynnot". He has invited Brian Robertson, Scott Gorham and Eric Bell. Pretty awesome. This compilation does not really do it justice. Watch the whole thing.
Disagree. Ask anyone about guitar players...you'll hear Slash...Eddie Van Halen...Eric Clapton...Hendrix...Jimmy Page. Gary's name SHOULD come up more than it does-he is one of the greatest to ever live.
The difference between the fast tecnique of this two, is the left hand of batio, it`s a fucking monster, and the skiping string technique. But Gary Moore, is faaar batter than batio, cause his got feeling and good sense of music.
The recommendations above are top drawer, but Id also look up Texas Strut (both parts) on RU-vid - not necessarily better in any way, but awesome, and very typically Gary
