There's a couple of full concert videos posted here, and on one of those there's a rash of accusations that he lip-synched this concert. I would imagine the accuser(s) just aren't familiar enough with Gary Numan to realize that he changed the words to this song entirely; not like someone making a minor flub, a complete new set of lyrics... 'cuz lip synchers do that.

Emma, This song is not actually ''Metal''. It's ''Moral'' from the album, ''Dance''. Pretty much the same tune as Metal, but with a totally different lyric. Hazy memory now, but I think he also performed this version when I saw him live at Wembley Arena in 1981.
