@@stuart38 Although I'm a passionate Numan fan, Gary didn't write this song; it was written by Bill Sharpe and Roger Odell. I've known Bill and Shakatak personally for quite a few years (they are lovely people and really good fun to be with); the song was written several years before the Strange Charm album but Bill adapted it to be conducive to Gary's needs. The lyrics in the video are Roger's but the lyrics used on the album issue are Gary's. I prefer Roger's lyrics but I think both versions are good. There's a brilliant set of interviews by Stephen Roper (Numan Arms) with. various artists and engineers who've worked with Gary, particularly those in the eighties; Bill is one of the interviewees and he briefly talks about the making of the record.
New thing from London Town Refugees of broken sound The sound of breathing and crying hearts This situation tears me apart The new police will find me soon I can't hide inside this room I'm waiting for the boys to come Then we can move out one by one [Chorus] New thing from London Town New thing from London Town, whoa, whoa, whoa Whoa, whoa, whoa
Excellent Image, good video, although the robot why was it on 3 foot tall! Anyway the bassline for this track if you listen closely to the previous Change Your Mind single specially the extended version it's the same bassline in places.
What in the hell is even going on in this music video? Just walking through a foggy building looking like a bleach blonde cenobite while a robot munchkin patrols about.. Still love the song though haha my favorite from the Numan+Sharpe collabs.
Are you totally deranged. You are truly not a Newman fan. Keep walking, you’re not welcome here. Go listen to one trick ponies of the era like Elvis Costello.
