" My young brother fell in Cork & my son in Enniscorthy" I was in Enniscorthy in County Wexford in May and climbed Vinegar Hill the sacred ground where many brave Irish lads gave their lives for Ireland. It was a privilege to be there.
I salute you and your kin. They fell bravely, I'm sure and the cause was noble. It's over now thank God almighty and I hope you and yours find solice in Jesus.
As we marched back home again In the shadow of the evening , With our banners flying low To the memory of our dead,We returned unto our homes, But without our soldier laddie,Yet I never will forget those words he said, Will ye stand in the band like a true Irish man, And go and fight the forces of the crown? Will ye march with O'Neill to an Irish battle field?
Good news: "In the name of the father" about the Guildford Four was on TV here in Holland. Very impressive! It shows how rotten the english system was, even in quite recent times. Hope it is better now. Please, go on telling (and singing) what really happened in Ireland, because the BBC won't tell us I'm afraid.
God bless all ireland... we will not stop fighting for our country even if thats continueing to kick out the brits or the new invading illegal immigrants... ireland for the irish
Good Historical Irish Song, These our Songs of our history and will never be forgotten nor should they be, anyone giving of about them must be british and ashamed and wanting to hide de truth of what the British done in Ireland. Shame on them. Tiocfaidh Ar La
north american tours would be great, After all the message reflects on some level everyone that has had their family go through oppression. We shall remember!
My Grandfather, Hughie Kearney was the VS for the rebellion in Louth, and blew up the Dublin-Belfast railway line at Dundalk in 1916. If you think I'm proud of that. Meet me on cloud 9. #proudkearney
Beautiful version. I can't help but wonder, what would Hugh O'Neill, Earl of Tyrone have made of this? And his friend Rory O'Donnel? Earl of Tyrconnel? It might interest you to know that they are sort of remembered in song and saga, as the Flight of the Jarls. Jarl was a high title indeed, among the people you call Vikings. Usually only one at a time. Except, of course the Jarls of Orkney. Not even Kings messed with them. (Always excepting Erik Bloodaxe). So, hundreds of years after the Vikings visited Ireland, the Flight of the Jarls made it back to Scandinavia. Isn't that nice? I can guarantee they would not have been impressed by the English Kings at the time. Or Cromwell, later. If the title Earl offends your Republican soul... Jarl was earned. Now and then inherited, but on probation, so to say. Can you imagine Mr Boris Alexander de Pfeffel Johnson standing up to Hugh O'Neill? 🤣 😱 😱 😱
I will stand in the band for I am a true Irish man. I will help you fight and destroy the forces of the Crown. I am here for my country and it's time to bring the Crown down.
Its time we join the Provos, Its time we join the brave, Its time we join the Provos, and Ireland shall be saved, Well it all happened in 71, When Internment had begun, And we were taken by the point of a gun, Remember, we shall remember, Now many a battle has been fought and won, Many a home has lost a son, Long Kesh's gates shall soon be undone, Remember, we shall remember, Fuck the UFF and the SAS, Assassinations at their best, Innocent people you put to their deaths, Remember, we shall remember, Daithi O'Connell we honour your name, Those British patrols you put them to shame, For Stormont's downfall you were to blame, Remember, we shall remember. So put your faith in the Provos, put your faith in the brave, Put your faith in the Provos and Ireland shall be saved.
At paradise we sing these songs to never forget that struggle, don't be ashamed for not have been doing anything. Singing the songs keeps the spirit alive...for those who do.
"we shall remember..." ERIN GO BRAGH TIOCFAIDH AR LA R.I.P. TO ALL THE BRAVE MEN,WOMEN AND CHILDREN WHO DIED BY BRIT TERRORISTS. MAY UR MEMORIES LIVE ON If we all stand as one.. uh ah up the 'RA!!
Oh God bless all Irish, women and men!! You should be proud for fighting or not. Because you Irish, as a nation, are so unbelievably talented in every way!! You have suffered terribly but it has never been your own fault. My own country has been suffering also like countless other states. God gave people the freedom to choose good or bad. Unfortunately most people have chosen bad using others like they were no humans at all ... their greed, cruelty, everything they have done to rob the riches belonging to other nations ( like the blood diamonds of south Africa, south America, the land of native Americans... there are absolutely too many examples of choosing bad ). What was the purpose of Germany to begin two world wars??? How cruel, evil, relentless and inhuman were they!! Back to the talented Irish ... yes, that's what you are!! And again - may God bless you all
Proud to be a tim!...iv not said that in years lol!.....Good song though and say hello to the PROVOS is a brilliant anthem that takes me back!!!!..KEEP THE FAITH AND VOTE SINN FEIN!..TIOCFAIDH AR LA!..32!
with all the British gangs in collusion together, from RUC, UDA, brit Army, etc, the Provos were more successful from a military point of view, they got 490 RUC and nearly 1000 brit soldiers while the British ABC murder gangs mainly killed civilians. I'm not Irish but my Grandfather was from Dublin and the Provos professionalism makes me proud to be part Irish.
Which makes it even stranger that Sinn Fein/IRA are now hard at work to hand Ireland over to Africans and Muslims. The original RA would turn in their graves!
nickthomas1745 You're right and it's heartbreaking, I was born in England with Irish parents, I feel more Irish than most Irish people who want to welcome every ethnicity and culture into Ireland thinking it's a good thing..........Ive watched England fall to pieces by immigrants over the years, the Europeans to be fair to them do work hard and long hours but the middle easterners are trouble!! They scrounge the benefit system and are heavily involved in hard drug distribution and gang culture along with the somalians and what not, won't take long before Irish people are the minority in Ireland with how low the population is. Up the RA 🇮🇪
Hey! What happened to "I wish I was back home in Derry" from this set list? I know it was on RU-vid a while ago, and I keep looking for it occasionally. This concert had the best version of the song I've ever heard. -Your friends from across the pond who kicked out the British in 1776 :)
