It's a cascade effect. The caller is wasting the cops time, and the cops are wasting the locksmiths time. Locksmith, once detained, technically could not continue his work til the" bozos in blue" sloped off.

The cop saw it was drilled from the INSIDE. The guy pointed it out. This cop is a "never detective". He refused to identify. He illegally entered the home against permission. The other cop started reading mail(federal offense)... These cops are ridiculous.
I`m English, I have always wanted to go to America, maybe do Route 66, but i`ve seen a lot of these videos and I would be more afraid of the Police than any possible criminals!

Seems the Karen next door wasn't finished getting what she wanted out of the house. So she calls the cops, and makes a false report of a "suspected crime", in attempts to stop the locks from being changed 🤯
How about investigate the caller first to determine what exactly happened. Callers these days make false and malicious police report which ends up in tragedy to anyone. If any callers made malicious or false police report via 911 call, charge the caller for interference and hindering polixe operation and providing false information to police.
Police want people to follow their suggestion of "see something say something". Because police can't be everywhere and want the citizens alert them of criminal activity. It's a good idea, but as this incident shows, stupid people make stupid calls to police. The officer in this case has no real training on how to investigate a possible crime. Either he wasn't taught or didn't pay enough attention to the instructions.
Cop to other cop: complain complaining complain... "he wants to go that route" Dude doing his job on his job site: "I'm just protecting my rights" Cop: "I KNOW" He literally acknowledges that the man is correct and yet he continues to "investigate stolen doors" that are clearly still intact. This guy helps him think his way through how he SHOULD go about investigating, the cop AGREES with him that that is the proper way to investigate, but he CANNOT STOP HIMSELF fro doing the investigation like a total fucking moron. How about this, while this innocent man calls the assessors office and does this cop's investigation, the cop shuts the fuck up and finishes replacing the locks. If he should do your job for you, you should help out by doing his for him, right?
Damn did you see how nice those doors were? No wonder they assumed someone would steal them, but first replace the locks. Cop just couldn't let it go, he knew with in 60 seconds that the guy was working on the doors. He couldn't handle what I assume to be a black man or anyone else not bend a knee and give up their rights. A couple bad apples though.....

They should be happy that someone is fixing something in that town! lol! I get it, they are just responding to a call or whatever but once they seen what was going on, they should have just moved on. It was pretty obvious. Almost hard to watch seeing how this went down. I hope the officers see this & learn from it. We don't need any more disconnect. We love good cops but bad cops are dangerous.

The fact the guy is still there and no quickly removable door is even off yet would be evidence that he's not stealing doors. But cops that refuse to do their job by identify themselves prove they dont know or care about their job, let alone evidence.
The man said he was working on changing out the door knobs. Common Sense does it look like he's changing out the door knobs. If so take a picture of him and his vehicle and tell him if something happens we're coming after you. Case closed. Then leave, come back later, if everything looks good, job done, no conflict.

When someone makes a COMPLAINT, they have to PUT IT IN WRITING and SIGN IT!!! Only then it’s A VALID COMPLIANT, and they CAN BE HELD ACCOUNTABLE FOR THEIR CLAIMS! One has THE RIGHT to know who is COMPLAINING and what EXACTLY THEY COMPLAIN ABOUT!
