Lynyrd Skynyrd Shorts Episode 33 Rickey Medlocke and the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame. Yes or NO?
There is only one correct answer. NO! And the reasons are clear. First of all the RRHF only considers people who had an active part in making said artist famous. Key word- an ACTIVE part in making the artist famous. So ask the question, DID Rickey have any part in making Lynyrd Skynyrd famous? The answer is hell no because the world never heard anything Rickey ever did or recorded with Lynyrd Skynyrd until 1978 a year after Skynyrd was already dead and gone. First and Last album was released in 1978 and that was the first time any fans ever heard Rickey in any Skynyrd songs. Rickey was NEVER heard on a Skynyrd record from 1970 to their death in 1977. Rickey Medlocke had NO Part in making that band famous. And this is an extremely important part of this especially for the RRHF. Peter Frampton is to be inducted and only Peter Frampton. The band members who made him famous on Frampton Comes Alive will NOT be included! Only Peter Frampton. So in this same line of reasoning is part of why Rickey cannot be included with Skynyrd. Rickey was NOT even an original band member as well! And we know this because Gary Rossington made it clear in this video: • Gary Tells Truth Here,... . Gary is asked point blank who are original band members and he skips Rickey standing right there. This is truth. But before Gary died he created a video where he lied about Rickey's involvement: • Gary Rossington on Ric... . Jakson Spires said Ronnie Van Zant did NOT call for Rickey to join the band. Ronnie called for Jakson to join band in Muscle Shoals on drums and Rickey intercepted that call and did not tell Jakson about it and instead had Jakson teach Rickey drums and drum parts he would need to know for several weeks before Rickey ran out to Muscle Shoals in place of Jakson by way of fraud and deception. Ronnie would later on ask Jakson angrily why he did not come and Jakson told Ronnie he had no idea he had even called. Rickey deceived everyone once again for pure selfishness. Now, when Rickey went to Muscle Shoals to record with pre-Skynyrd, Rickey was NEVER a band member! He was simply a hired employee. How do we know this for a fact? Because if you look inside of the MCA Records Box Set, in the paper catalog or pamphlet that comes with the Box Set MCA Records clearly laid out all of Lynyrd Skynyrd's official band member incarnations as defined LEGALLY by signed contracts. MCA Records set the record straight by law on I think 7 band incarnations by legal contracts. And Rickey Medlocke is not listed in any of the official bands of Lynyrd Skynyrd. Not a one. And because Rickey was NEVER an original band member, and because no one ever heard anything from Rickey until 1978 and having no part in making Skynyrd famous, this is why Rickey was not included in the RRHF induction. Because he did not belong there legally and officially. In fact, Rickey Medlocke was told to stay away from the RRHF induction ceremony and he was NOT even allowed to attend nor welcome there. Another way we know Rickey was NEVER even a band member is clearly printed on Blackfoot's Flying High album where it clearly says "Rickey was a member of the band that went on to BECOME Lynyrd Skynyrd" but was NOT Lynyrd Skynyrd when Rickey was an employee. Rickey's involvement was turned INTO Lynyrd Skynyrd in 1978 only after Skynyrd was dead and gone. But, in the years since, and just before Gary Rossington died, Gary Rossington created a video and in it Gary Rossington lied about calling Rickey and lied about Rickey being an original band member flipping on his previous stance as shown in previous video above because Gary wanted Rickey to provide his fake Skinnerd tribute band with some kind of legitimacy once Gary died. Gary knew he was not going to live long when he made that lie for a video. He did it to put money into his family's pockets after he was dead and gone. He did it to literally steal money from fans by way of lying and fraud so his family could continue to rape the name of Lynyrd Skynyrd once he was dead and gone exactly how we see it today. Both Gary Rossington and Rickey Medlocke are liars and frauds for selfish greed and self grandeur. It is a dam shame this is what we are all left with along with an arrogant pompous lying fraud named Rickey Medlocke who today actually thinks and believes and acts as if he made Skynyrd famous and has a right to be in the RRHF along with those who actually did make Skynyrd famous. The RRHF even excluded a real original band member Larry Junstrum because he was not around to make Skynyrd famous- and yet he was included in MCA's list of official Skynyrd bands, but still excluded from RRHF.
