I share the latest work on the signature scene. I also give you a POV of entering the layout room. We will run some trains around the layout and through the signature scene, showing the latest scenery work done. We also talk about where I will be traveling and when, in case you want to meet me. I also take some time to reflect on my memories of Roy Smith and wish the family my condolences in his and his wife's passing. Roy will always live on in my thoughts.

I was working on building for next project of the layout when I read about his passing. He will be sorely missed by people all over the World. I was honored and feel lucky to be one of them that got to meet and spend time with him. He was truly a great man and hobbyist. Thanks for the comment and stay safe out there.

WOW,the waterfall scene is awesome! Truly amazing.I had heard Roy and his wife had passed away and was very sorry to hear it.He seemed like a great fella.

Hi Gary, nice layout update! I was saddened to hear about the passing of Roy Smith! Loved his layout videos! I am looking forward to N Scale Convention weekend. I will be there Sunday to try and grab some new Atlas Erie Lackawanna SD45's! Can't wait 2 weeks and counting. Take care...

I was working on a building when I read the news of his passing. It will be in a future Layout update and will be completed in Roy's memory. I can't wait to finish the building and show it to everyone. I should be there Sunday as well if you would like to come say hi. I am very excited for this year's event. That sucks and I was wondering what happened to Roy! My condolences to him, his wife and family! He was a master with the hobby and I enjoyed all of his videos! He will be missed, but hopefully his channel stays on.

He was absolutely adored by the model railroad community. Those lucky enough to catch up with him, knew that it was genuine. I was glad I got to see him and strike up a friendship with him that led to so many others in the hobby. Thanks for the comment and stay safe out there.

RU-vid suggested I watch Roy’s Videos. Roy in 2023, was an inspiration to me to get back into the Hobby after over a 30 year hiatus. So sorry about his passing! I live about 3 miles from the Blair County Convention Center and had the hope to meet him at the N Scale Weekend this September 2024.

Roy was amazing at being able to draw people into the hobby, wether new or just away for a while. I am glad that you are back in the hobby. I know he would've loved to be be there if he could. down right awesome tribute to roy gary we shall all miss him some of us more than others but he was such an inspiration to all of us and yes it was because of roy and his channel we all were able to meet and become life long friends. i will miss him dearly for sure and i will treasure the friend ship i had with him. great tribute great.

I really appreciate the compliment and comments. I strive to make sure the scenery is as good as my skull level allows. I was thrilled with the way this turned out and stay safe out there. I was so excited when I knew I was getting the chance to see Roy in person. He was such a great help in building my channel subscription when I first started up the channel. He truly will be missed around the world. He has such a great legacy. RIP in Peace Roy!

DJ's Trains would love that waterfall. You've prevented anyone walking into the train room from seeing a flat layout because they have to walk past and into the room to see what's behind. Great job Gary!

Thanks for the comment and compliments. I tried to make it an imersive experience when you walk in with scenery and height. I really wanted to have the mountains and scenery be the stars and dominating the trains. Stay safe out there.

@@biggsrr6708 I think you got the mountain to make the locos look small pretty well. As we both know, even though it's N scale, you still need a good height of a mountain.

This is true. If you want the scenery to dominate the train ratio, height is the key. I like the scenery to track ratio in N scale more. Than most other scales. HO is great, but takes a lot of space to make it look right, unless you do a switching layout.

I know I will be there Saturday for sure. Sunday I may for a small amount of time. I may try to visit more train stuff around Altoona for videos. I will also be at Todd Treaster's house on Friday helping run his layout for the open house he is hosting.

I was wondering what happened to Roy's channel since there hadn't been any new content in a while. Very sorry to hear about his passing; thanks for bringing this information to the model railroad community - he'll be missed. On a happier note, the waterfall looks fantastic.

Roy, the waterfall is incredible, as are those bridges, but I think that the lagoon where the waterfall is born is not very large for the amount of water that falls through it. The rest is great. Greetings from Chile.

I really appreciate the comments, compliments, and constructive criticism. On the upper lagoon, my thought is that it is sprung feed. As many mountain lakes or ponds are small in stature, the only way for it to support that amount of water is being sprung feed. I am thrilled to have someone in Chile watching, greeting to you as well. Stay safe out there.

I am sorry for the ads, but You Tube puts them there, not me. I am monetized, as a way to bring in revenue to bring more layout visits to the channel. The money I make goes to pay for some expenses towards the travel. I am sorry, but all videos have ads built in, whether a channel is monetized or not. I hope to see you back. Stay safe out there.
