Back in 2020 we went to meet a rather incredible individual, someone who's history campaigning for change has landed him in some tricky situations over the years but nothing quite as mad as what has happened now.
Gary Youds, founder of the Chillin Rooms in Liverpool is no stranger to the criminal justice system but after decades battling with the police he is now serving a 3 year sentence over issues involving Cannabis.
Gary remains an inspiration to us all as he highlights the insanity of the criminal justice system. We wish him all the best and hope to see him on the other side soon.
When we look back on this you'll be sure to find him on the right side of history, once again.

Gary’s vision and passion are infectious. Well get there. As sad as it is that it has to come for someone like Gary to be jailed, I think this will be a turning point for our whole community to actually stand up and do something. I’ve had the pleasure of spending time with Gary, and amongst all the people with names in lights, he’d be the guy I chose to sit down with every time.

Absolutely insane sentence. Politically motivated if you ask me. He may of been caught for supply but with the amounts he had you would be very unlucky to go to prison AT ALL. let alone 3 years. Even small time class A dealers usually avoid prison.

Respect to you Gary a true pioneer!! he dose it for the people! its about time this government wake up and acknowledge the benefits and possibilities this plant can provide for our people.. (financial benefits) (environmental benefits) (crime rate will decrease) instead they choose to remain ignorant.

Solving problems gets you into trouble in the English speaking world. Most people do not realize that even people like Timothy Leary f Richard Alpert were doctorate psychologists, but published a method to rehabituate criminals and make the prison system profitable. Which just doesn’t fit into mainstream model. Named Shamed and made to appear as babbling idiots for decades. Back then there were no “private prisons” either. ::: All the best of luck to you & your family, you are a legend Gary! I wouldn’t be surprised at all that it was because of your inspiration that gave the momentum to legalise cannabis in Colorado and Washington either. When I moved to England I would have bet that it never would get legalised in the states...

His mistake is having plants growing in his house .. and bags of all different weed packaged up for sale ! There is no way around that , the other thing with him helping the cancer patient is great I’m not a weed smoker but I like this guy .. but you can’t get around having a crop and having weed packaged up for sale

@@cian2944 wether you like it or not mate it’s illegal, personally I have no issue with anyone smoking weed and growing a few “plants” but he had 6 growing bags all ready for SALE .. he was taking the piss there with it all packaged up 😂🫣 it’s his own stupidity that’s why he’s in jail mate! He’s got it packaged ready to sell that’s what the police won’t tolerate.
