Does anyone else hate this system? Mine has all sorts of problems like not turning on or fan not turning off and i have to reset it all the time. Wish i just had a wood burning stove.
My expensive fireplace with this system in has failed numerous times. My advice would be to avoid this like the plague. Apparently the solenoid fails all the time and is a very expensive fix - which is what I am assuming is the problem with mine. Piece of rubbish, nice when it works but as this is an essential piece of equipment during winter you would want it to always be working.
As a year long Valor Presidents model (no extras) fireplace owner I want to pass on some key observations about their 5 X 7 manual literature: The sun and moon signs are only to mean hotter or cooler. Not day and night. A comment about safety: Under "Set the Timer", item number 4...you must "hold" the "set" button to see the timer blink for P1 with the moon icon written in your 5 X 7 handbook. If you only "click" the "set" button and not "hold" the "set" button then it will only show you blinking temps and not time. You will have to begin the series from the top of the page of "Set the Timer"...again. Additionally, you leave too little response time of your interface experience with humans/owners... effectively frustrating them when you have such a short time out per each program command. I have discovered as well that leaving this programming of your remote control incomplete/abandoned can have your fireplace shut down in the middle of the night or at perceived unexpected times of day. Even though there is an 8-hour complete shut down safety feature built-in... No programming should ever produce this real world scenario. Personal note: This myopic design in the remote control of an appliance that features fire is EXTREMELY disconcerting to your patrons peace of mind when operating your product in their home and a direct opposite to the image you're trying to get across in your campaign. I hope that corporations importing to the USA recognize the free speech of the people of the USA. Don't censor this.

How do I turn the remote control in standby mode ( no LED screen display) to save battery ! I replace the remote control battery every 2/3 months. Even if I am not using the stove !
What in hell did anyone have in mind to add electronc crap to a gasheater.... these things worked perfectly well for half a century until someone came up with this device..... It is getting cold and it DOESN’T WORK!!!!
