Stripping paint, sandblasting, welding, metal finishing...getting the top panels in shape on a late 50's Gilbarco gas pump. More content to come so keep watching!
I have a slightly later Gilbarco pump, with square corners but it still has the round piece on top for a globe. It also has the exact same computer/gear mechanism, and it's complete but seized. And full of dirt dobber nests from my dad's farm. I look forward to your videos of finishing this! I'm leaving mine with the patina, oiling it, and turning it into an electric car charger. Thank you for these videos!
They are a lot of fun to work on. Some WD40 and a bit of patience will get your computer moving again. I plan to add a motor to run mine with a switch in the nozzle. I am getting back to work on mine now that winter is coming to Michigan. I hope to have another video on before the end of the year. Good luck with your pump!
You caught me!! Tha snow melted in Michigan a few months ago and I've been driving my Studebakers. The pump sits as it was shown in the last video. I will probably restart the work this fall. I have the globe, ad glass and panel advertising ready to go. I need to find a long hose since this has a retractable hose. !thanks for watching. More to come. Neil
@@neilloughlin7080 that’s good to know…I have the same pump over here in the UK, so this has been fascinating to watch…and oddly enough I commented on your dial restoration video and I was doing another replica pump and needed the benefit of your experience…I got it sorted in the end ….anyway, have a great summer and I’ll see you in the Autumn 😊
@@brianhull5125 sorry for not replying on that. I usually respond right away. If you need any odd meter parts let me know. I have some left over from my donor meter.
