Gas Transit to EU from Russia May Soon End AT ALL: the Contract Expires in 2024

Ukraine has been transiting Russian gas to Europe for decades and the contract for that ends in 2024. Both parties: Ukrainian gas company 'Naftogaz' and Russian 'Gazprom' declared they have no intention to conclude a new agreement. And new EU sanctions will target Russian gas suppliers and LNG projects. So, Russian gas transfer to EU consumers can soon end for good.

We are ready for it. 10 years ago we bought solar panels and a hybrid heat pump. In the same year we leased our first electric car. Two years ago we transferred for heating water and our house to a bigger heat pump. So we are not longer dependent on gas. Our electricity company supplies only electricity from windmills and solar panels, if our solar panels yields aren’t sufficient we can fall back on them. I think the war in Ukraine is a motivation for speeding up the energy transition.

2021 Gazprom profits 31 billion dollars. 2023 Gazprom losses 6.7 billion dollars. 2025 Gazprom losses will be catastrophic.

A couple of months ago they said the same and Spain was receiving some russian gas.Some people said it was due to a previuos contract...But I hope the EU stop buying russian gas an oil x good.

Building new LNG plants is expensive and takes a long time. Building new pipelines take years. No Western company will ever again invest in Russia. China will do so only under terms that heavily favor China.

They are already out. Merkel, Schroder, Berlusconi, etc. And left Europe in trouble. But they don't care now. The WW2 axis Germany and Italy left Europe in tatters vs Russia while the winners France and the UK were doing the right thing for the independence of Europe with their nuclear energy and north European gas.

Nope. Won´t happen. Gas isn´t supplied in newly build houses. In belgium its 7years already its all on electricity. Around 50% do have solarpanels on their houses
