"Gaslighting & Cherry-Picking": How Israel Is Defending Itself at World Court on Charges of Genocide

I’ve noticed some people questioning why nothing has been done in the past 75 years. Firstly, those posing this question need some history lesson. Here’s a snippet: Every single time the UN attempted to pass a resolution against Israel to halt the construction of settlements in the West Bank and to prevent harm to Palestinians, the US vetoed it. The US has vetoed resolutions on Israel a total of 46 times. Now, go figure why no significant action could be taken in the past 75 years. When a bully (US) rises to the status of a superpower, this is the inevitable outcome.

Did Israel also expect Hamas was hiding in the graves of the dead in the cemetaries that they bulldozed and desecrsted?

Seems to me like the defense they've put together is basically "nu-uh!", "they started it!" and "you can't do this"... The result of this international court is not important; of course, it matters. But the mere facts that the Israeli government has to answer for what it has done, and that a lot of discourse will be circulated against them are themselves victories that humanity has achieved! This is kind of tragic and comical at the same time because Hamas and Palestinians are never allowed to take the stand and testify in the court throughout the trial. Palestinians have been always ignored and sidelined throughout history.

If the court affirms the argument that a well funded military can use any force it deems necessary to oppose an underfunded resistance to occupation force in the name of self defense, then it follows also that that resistance force must be allowed to use any means in its limited arsenal in the name of self defense. What this argument does is make law a question of "they did it, so we can" and it becomes an issue of whoever has the greater force wins. Might as well just get rid of the court and leave the status quo of might makes right intact, and we will see more killings around the world go unpunished.
