Leo S. always sang in the most pleasing way, in both grand opera and operetta. He was a master singer in all realms. He exudes charm and style! Thanks to the poster.
RETURN VISIT. This video has a singular charm that continues to draw me back for another viewing. SINCERE thanks to the poster for this treasure. FIVE STARS.
Slezak was one of the greatest of his era. He was a bit past his prime here, but his wondrous talent still shone brightly. He was a very articulate man whose writings are very interesting and entertaining to read.
Ahhh, I see where Walter got his delightful speaking voice, AND those twinkly, oh-so-intelligent eyes. This is lovely. I wish I could watch the whole film. I shall have to hunt this down.
Walter Slezak a favourite actor and then I find he has a more famous father! They look like twins and Walter could sing but not like this!! 1937, Leo has been retired from Opera for 3 years and is 64 years old! Amazing!
Well, but we don‘t want to dub him… and he sang this in German… Or do you mean the dialogues only? Who do you suggest should synchronize them? Just enjoy the great voice! 😊
