to my health journey! My name is Katherina, and I am documenting my journey after undergoing Gastric Bypass Roux-en-Y surgery on December 22, 2022. Follow along as I share my experience and progress. From my highest weight of 356 pounds in January 2020, I've been determined to improve my health and overcome conditions like diabetes, hypothyroidism, high blood pressure, and endometriosis. As a stroke survivor, I'm committed to preventing another one. I'm a proud mother of two boys and a stepmother to a wonderful young lady, and with the love and support of my family, friends, medical team, and the strength from a higher power, I'm dedicated to conquering my food addiction and overcoming binge habits. On this channel, I'll share both my struggles and successes, hoping to provide value, motivation, and encouragement to those facing similar challenges. Join me on this journey to achieve mental and physical well-being. Welcome! In this video, I discuss my sixth month after Gastric Bypass Surgery, providing insights into my weight loss progress, inches lost, and the foods I consume during this post-op stage of my journey. Being 6 months post-op is a transformative experience, as the body adjusts and the results of the surgery become more apparent. The initial weeks after surgery can be challenging, with strict dietary guidelines and the recovery process. However, as time passes, you'll witness significant weight loss and improved overall health, reducing the risk of obesity-related diseases such as diabetes and heart disease.

Believe in yourself. Trust that all will go well. Give yourself time to adapt and patience. You'll be able to do soooooo much with your children afterwards. You'll have soooo much more energy and less physical restrictions. My family and I are vacationing in Alberta this summer. By then you'll be a PRO at Bariatric life! Keep pushing throught!

Happy bari versary!Thank you for your video. I am 8 months post-op. I found your videos right around the time of my surgery and i cant tell you how comforting they were to me esp when i was struggling in the beginning. Pre surgery, I was a diet coke fiend. I thought i would struggle giving it up. I havent had DC in 10 months and i havent missed it for one second. Now ice cream is another story! I can no longer eat any ice creams because i get violently ill. I had to have a mental ice cream funeral and grieve the loss. You are absolutely right that your tastes change and your food tolerances change in a good way. You just have to let go of the old and embrace the new. Thanks again and happy bari journey!

Thanks for your message. I love hearing that my videos reach people and that they appreciate it. I am so happy that you're doing well on your journey. I understand how difficult it is to have a food funeral. It's so hard to give up something that you love or relied on. 8 months already? That's great. You can testify that the process gets easier with time. Those who recently had the surgery are always worried about what life looks like after a while. You and I can testify that it's better at month 8 as opposed to month 1 ;) Thank you soooo much for watching xox. Be well!

CONGRATS!!!! That one year mark is a BIG one. At one year, I hadn't met my goal weight and I was a little disappointed but then I remembered all the things I can do now, like play with my sons and wear clothes from "regular" shops and how I don't have Diabetes anymore and I forgot about my woes :) Keep in touch!

Congratulations on your journey! I am 4 months post op RNY. I’m 64 and post menopausal. I also take Gabapentin for nerve pain. Slowly the excess weight is coming off. I log all my food in the Lose It app. I had to stop my blood pressure medication very soon after surgery. It would be nice to be in onederland by my birthday in May. I need to work on getting more active. I admire that you pushed through the pain. I loved the video of you playing at the park. Congratulations on the new job. And good luck with your mother.

Thank you Sara. I appreciate your support. I haven't herd of the Lose It app. Are you enjoying it? I hope you make it to onederland as well for your birthday. Remember that it's all about being healthy and feeling good. The numbers on the scale are just a secondary side effect :) You'll get there sooner or later. I wish you lots of success on your journey xoxo and THANK YOU for watching my videos :)

@@thistothatlife I started logging ALL of my food in the Lose It app 5 months prior to my surgery. Every single day! I have never done that before! I sincerely appreciate your videos I watched them all. Now I’m going back and rewatching your videos. I’m enjoying the ones that coincide with where I am at. Thank you for your vote of confidence. I believe that I will get there too. I did a few food funerals. But I know I will eat those foods again. Just not as often and not as much.

Do you have any tips for hitting our water goals?
@thistothatlife
@thistothatlife 5 месяцев назад
I wish I did. I am struggling with water intake as well. I used to be able to drink 8-10 glasses a day and now I can barely have 2. However I started drinking tea and apparently that counts according to my Bariatric Clinic soooo there's that !

I have heard a lot about losing some height but what is the relation between surgery and losing heights 🤔
@thistothatlife
@thistothatlife 2 месяца назад
I lost height and shoe size after having lost over 120lbs. I don't really think that the surgery is responsible. I think that I lost weight around my feet and head and that's why I am an inch shorter now :) I looked it up and apparently it's quite common to also lose a show size..... I donated most of my shoes. It gave me a good opportunity to go shopping :)

I think it's because my feet got smaller. I don't really know exactly but I am shorter now LOL
