Hey everyone! It’s been an exciting week! I’m loving soft foods, and I got to have a virtual meeting with Dr. Bovard! Watch for some “recipe” ideas, words of wisdom from Dr. Bovard, and exciting news about my personal/professional life!
Thank you for sharing. I am one-week post surgery and am looking forward to soft and mushy. I am so tired of sweet liquids! You have given me some great ideas. I will defiantly check out Lavash Bread.
I'm glad I found your channel. Dr. Bovard did my Surgery 11/18/22. So I'm 1 month post op. I really have to stop getting on the scale, because as you said, it is very frustrating.
Wow we went to the same place for our first restaurant (PF Chang’s and I did get the Mon beef with green beans. Gave my rice to my aunt). I ate on this meal for 3 meals (dinner at the time, breakfast the next day, and then lunch the day after).
Yeah, they never gave me a rule of no bread/pasta. Just to follow the guidelines for carb intake. Honestly, I don’t eat it much. It doesn’t sit well and fills me up too quickly.
I’m four weeks post op and they still have me on purée diet after the gastric sleeve. And I’m still only eating 1-2 oz... I’m ready to move on... can’t wait till I can’t start your diet.
Hmmm yeah maybe that’s why! My nutritionist and surgeon don’t have many things that are off limits. I had deli meat throughout softfoods and didn’t have an issue. It could be because of bacteria. I know some people cook it to be safe. But of course, follow the guide of your surgeon or ask for clarification to be safe!
@@smoothhennessey5983 I’m doing pretty good!! I’m about 5 months out at this point. I need to post another update! But I’m able to eat all food textures, and just having to make sure I always take my vitamins, drink enough water, and get in my protein! It’s not always easy, but it’s gotten to a point where it’s second nature and not a bother, if that makes sense! :) If you’re on insta, feel free to find me at @mrsmariahkuta! I share more often on there, and you’re always welcome to dm me if you’d like!
@@isabeldavalos7681 I hope it can be helpful to you!! Never hesitate to message me with any questions! I’m an open book :) if you’re on insta, you can message me there @mrsmariahkuta
Thank you for sharing what your doctor said, he seems more caring than my Doctor.. Honestly I agree with him, I don't have a scale, am not worried about how much am weighing becus this surgery is for weight loss, so I know I'll loss my weight.. Am more worried about my muscle, I lost all my muscle 😫 I wana gain it back!! U didn't get acid reflux with ketchup&mustard?
Exactly! If you’re doing what you should, the weightloss will come!! And same here haha I want to start lifting! No, I didn’t get acid reflux from it! But, at the time, I was taking a medication to prevent heartburn for the first 6 months while I was healing. I haven’t struggled much with heartburn since surgery though! Here and there if I eat something that makes it flare up too close to bed (like chocolate) but I don’t have nearly as many issues as before.
@@MariahKuta Thank you for the info so much appreciated 😀 Aww your so lucky u don't suffer from that, I suffered from acid reflux before my surgery, & it feels like it got a lil worse hope it gets better am barely on week4 po, so will see...
@@katsego1501 ugh I’m sorry to hear that! I hope it does too! I feel like it’s harder to avoid it early on post op. But as you heal and are able to have more variety in what you eat, I think it’s a little less likely. I definitely would’ve struggled with it early on without omeprazole.
