So it goes in the restaurant business..... a true view on cooks with egos.

As a professional Chef... I can tell you that this is quite realistic as there are a decent amount of arrogant and self-centered cooks. Meaning that they never take blame for something that they've done wrong but instead blame it on other cooks in the kitchen and trying to get out of trouble. But the truth is that lies have very short life and quite easy to figure out when someone is lying in the kitchen. Believe me it's pretty damn annoying and sometimes you just got to yell at their face and tell them to cut the nonsense or they will be kicked out of the restaurant. I had to deal with so many idiots in the kitchen you guys have no idea.

I wish the insights in the film were from watching other cooks behaviour, but to be honest this was just who I was when I was in my twenties working kitchens. Hope it doesn't come across as glorifying it as much as taking the piss out of people who take themselves too seriously.

@@owakafilms Yeah nowadays people are way too damn serious and can't even be chill anymore. like eight years ago it was completely different. I recently resigned from working in the restaurant industry as I'm just fed up with how people put others down just to make them feel better about themselves. Now I am working for myself as a chef and doing what I love without having people say hurtful things and make me feel worthless. And sure when I started I wasn't the best either and messed up a lot of shit in the kitchen but it's part of the growing process and being better than what you were when you first started.

what chef did is the exact call i would have made as soon as line cook said it was rancid. just cut the soup, keep the calm and flow. easy night. OR, get someone to get a new one going, and serve it on the latter half of the evening service. decision making in kitchens ive seen become very lost these days. People dont know how to problem solve

Chef bleeding and getting their blood on the food !! This is the second short I see it with the same incident ( Cru (( Raw)) Short film ) !! Please tell this is not normal among kitchen life?!
@rainylenses
@rainylenses 6 дней назад
Thankfully not! Anyone who behaves like that would be kicked out immediately. All wounds would be properly cleaned, dressed, and covered, and all work surfaces would be thoroughly cleaned. The food that was in the area someone bled over would also be thrown away to prevent potential contamination. Thankfully, neither of these two films (I also watched Cru) were realistic. They focused on shock value instead.
