I started getting into Blue Archive for the girls... But I stayed because the community is genuinely so damn kind (despite being poetically unhinged and deranged).

The dumbest thing nowadays with these people is the whole "satirizing" thing, it's like they can't grasp that the creator of the thing they like disagrees with them, and they can't create something as good, so they have to cope with the fact that the things that are actually good and that they do like are made by people who are directly disagreeing with their worldviews. It's a redflag to their narcisism, they simply cannot see themselves as being challenged or wrong in any capacity.

I don't think tourists understand that the devs cultivated this fanbase. The devs had gentlemanly discussions regarding Kotori's belly so if people don't like that they obviously don't belong.

Sensei sacrifices his sleep and safety on a daily basis (addressed multiple times and as a mortal human gets kidnapped way too many times) just to make life a little more easier for his students, helped the RABBIT squad in the mud and the rain while things were seemingly in vain when he really didn't have to, got shot and almost killed during the Eden treaty arc, in an alternate time line didn't mind losing his sight, hearing, sensation, everything and even his humanity if it's to give a chance at happiness for the one remaining student still alive. I swear I just off of the MHA Twitter Fandom for a break but I will not tolerate this insult to Phrenapates. I will get back in the damn fight for this.

Blue Archive's main selling point is how loli-centric it is. The whole community is hilariously self-aware and embracing their own degeneracy about it. It's actually a really nice and funny community despite how unhinged it is, it is basically gatekeeping itself.

Yeah they’re kids but if you go “Ew children, that’s sexual!” that’s sounds like a you problem, also missing the points of the game. It's kinda fun how they didn't even look at Bakemonogatari with their glutteus maximus, until Heart-under-Blade/Shinobu had more screen time and one of the later seasons opening went viral/meme status. The Monogatari Series should have been gatekept from meme tourists, too.

1:31 Seriously, the tourist problem in Higurashi fan communities is pretty bad. Everytime you have someone releases any fanart or a figurine with ecchi loli stuff in it, you always have a dozen of people calling others pdfiles for it, like the show itself doesn't have lots of lolibait in it. The go-to mental gymnastic is always: "I can enjoy pdfile bait while calling pthers pdfiles for enjoying the same thing."

Gatekeeping works and is working. The whole reason the fandom got as bad as it did is because we let too many of the tourists in. You let something get to mainstream and you get a bunch of normies in here bitching and moaning. But it is beautiful when something does exactly what it was created to do keep the whiny little normies out. Honestly, from my personal experience playing the game. Sensei is the opposite of a bad role model. Yes, there are sus scenes in love stories but many of them are more like pranks. Besides, in terms of the main story, sensei is an absolute gigachad to me with how he demonstrates the way adults should act in favor of younger generation, the Arius chapters are the prime examples of this and I absolutely love the many inspirational quotes in the game
