I don't understand the mix of a plate and repper on the Vedmak, someone was using more or less this fit on the test server and apparently it is the meta? Surely more resistances or a second repper would improve tank over raw hp? I haven't played for a good few years now so has the functionality changed?
@@du1987de It is something I've only recently been trying and it makes a big difference for a number of reasons: The vedmak is really fast and agile anyway so no nano is necessarily required, it buffs your raw ehp quite a lot so it allows you to take bigger hits from bigger ships and not get alphad off grid, meaning that you can stay on grid for longer and help your fleet mates, and it also has the benefit in that if you have logi on grid then you can catch reps more easily and efficiently. Many people still opt for using snaked pods (boosts speed) because it keeps the higher speeds while giving all the benefits I just listed above, but snakes aren't always necessary since it is still quite fast. I do agree that more resistances/second repper would improve tank on paper but in many small gang situations/fleet situations (that I've had anyway) without the plate it gets difficult to stay on grid and take big hits especially when the blob arrives. Hope that helps :)
@@ganemedeskylet8661 Yes that would make sense, I simulated your fit on Pyfa and noticed that the Vedmak is made of wet cardboard. The plate actually added about 40% to the ehp. I played around with adding some more expensive faction/deadspace modules and managed to get a dual rep fit to work, but the ehp is still a good chunk lower than with the plate so you probably still wouldn't want to take much heat. Plus the cost would be just under 500m which may be too rich for some. But none of the modules cost more than the hull, which is usually a pretty good rule to go by.
@@du1987de yeah without it is a pretty paper thin haha. I have to say, the vedmak is definitely one of those ships where you can get away with blinging out because of the extra utility and help you get from it. FYI i would check out this video by amelia duskspace: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-d-xb6v9vNw8.html It goes into a ton of detail and is a really useful guide for flying the vedmak which I would recommend checking out.
@@ganemedeskylet8661 I was just telling one of my corp members that I left a part there for a long time... We don't even mess with that place anymore. You should go get the guys doing that stuff in "Perimeter" next! Those turds almost got me with the "cheap Hyperion" deal. I put on every single counter measure I could and made it!! Lol still got the Hyperion too!!
Thanks! Yeah I actually did have some but didn't use it which was a bad idea since it tracks way better. I'm still getting used to flying the thing and it doesn't help that I've been flying the kiki out a lot which has good tracking even with mystic loaded (probably why I didn't switch). Nonetheless, I'm still enjoying flying it and I'm definitely getting better with it!
