Hidden gems from Gateshead Council’s photographic archive have gone on public view this month at an exhibition at St Mary’s Heritage Centre - but it’s an exhibition with a difference.
The local studies team at Gateshead Council’s Central Library has delved deep into their archives to root out a series of 12 fascinating images from Gateshead past - but instead of just looking, visitors will be able to leave the exhibition with a copy of their favourite print under their arm.
“Gateshead’s Heritage: A History in Pictures” offers the public a unique chance to own a little piece of Gateshead’s history.
