Gato - American special premium Tier X submarine. The U.S. Navy High Command conceived that "fleet submarines" were to complement the sluggish conventional battleships. With a high surface speed, heavy armament, and long operational range, they were supposed to conduct reconnaissance and finish off enemy ships once artillery duels between battleships ceased. However, after the attack on Pearl Harbor, their strategy changed, and a new type-Gato-was geared for extended patrols. Comfortable for their crews, these submarines carried a large fuel supply and torpedoes. USS Gato was laid down in October 1940 and commissioned in December 1941. The submarine conducted thirteen combat missions, earning the same number of battle stars and the Presidential Unit Citation.

i still think DDs need to have an ability like subs that detect surface ships every couple secs but be for underwater subs only so they can at least track them or scare them off from shotguning everything

Absolutely disgusting! Just show - if any ships try to be active when subs are there will be deleted.

Yep. Anyone tell me the counterplay to this. Other than staying in spawn with your stern towards the enemy, that is.

And my friend told me that CV is worst to counter than subs. For me if u are alone without supp in bs and sub who just little know how to play is gg 😢😢😢. But CV need lots of time to kill you

Gato was completely helpless against all of the enemy hydro and DDs and subs. I'm amazed he even got 1 torp hit. Very underpowered class. WG needs to buff these ships now!

The RN subs are bad enough in general. But in the hands of someone who manages to ground themselves on an island? That's rough, buddy. You're only supposed to fight with the training weights on when you're *too* strong. But hey, real talk: Everybody has bad matches, not everybody ends up on YT.

Loved wows a couple of years ago wen it went downwards, sinds subs are in the game it ruined the game completly , this is a great example to show how ridiculous it has become these days. Farewell wows.

Honestly I'd be okay with subs if they changed two things - first make it so they have a short firing cool down of like 2 seconds in between each tube firing to limit shoguns - second make them less "wriggly", as a DD player I often find myself not being able to catch the little buggers never mind accurately put depth charges on them, by the time you've sailed over them after they've been spotted they've already U-turned and are out of your depth charge's damage radious anyway. I've found myself just wanting to avoid subs all together as a DD because of how dangerous they are to me when it really should be the other way around. They also need their torpedoes to have minium arming distance like the rest of us, its the way to counter CV torps and knife-fight DD torps, it should work against subs. They should know that when I'm sailing over them that they need to move and not surface to shotgun and if that fails then they always ram, which is another thing that needs to be changed because of how silly it is.
