Gato is such a BALANSED sub - World of Warships 

DDs OP. Keep buffing subs and carriers. Maybe allow carriers to drop minefields: now, there’s an idea! (Seriously, good idea. Sadly any concept to buff consumables for existing classes to keep up is most likely DOA.)

The Soviet K1 is practically uncatchable by any DD's apart from the French boats when modded out does 37knots stock which is insane...

@@hmmjedi Yeah it's so stupid that it circles around to hilarious. That and the fact that big fat battleships who were completely defenseless against subs are the best at attacking subs while DD's are not very good at it and sonar works in the game in some strange alternate universe where it doesn't actually locate subs.

Oh subs definitely get inflated BXP, I got Gato and since the start of June I got 3 max xp records with it. Wasn't even that my original record was that low.

Torpedo hits give more bxp than usual

Resistance is futile. You see Trenlass taking out subs on a fairly regular basis and mopping the floor with other classes and no impact.

@@LeMrAlpaca Do you start turning when you see the shells? No. You start maneuvering when you see that someone is targeting you. "Dont drive in straight lines when you're spotted" is a pretty basic pointer for WoWS like how the fuck do I have to be the one to tell you this?

And you can actually disengage anytime you want just pressing C. I don't understand how anyone with 2 braincells consider this fine.

I legit think this is the only way. Unicums playing in platoons (or whatever its called in WoWs) and combining CV with op subs.

From an unicum perspective: not all good players are streamers. Although maybe Flambass could pull it out for the keks and have the effect on the ''public'', the most of us anonymous players would get bored very fast, as playing only dented classes would become overbearing and annoying with minimal chances of an ''investment return''. WG would not bend. At the end of the day, unicums and casuals are not that much different - both play for the fun and not politics or the money.

@@Voygliz CV Rework initially pushed me close to the edge, then saw Subs and uninstalled. Have not gone back since.

As compared to what submarines really did in World War II, they are rather underpowered. This is why surface action groups did their best to steer clear of submarines.

He turned away, but then turned back again to similar course. And it is hard being in the backline kiting when suddenly single underwater rockets go and smash. Hard to predict and even harder to counter :D

Ah yes, the 'essence' of WW2 sub warfare. Travel at 30+ knots while submerged, intercept the battlefleet at full speed, survive multiple direct hits and depth charge attempts, evade hydro detection by diving (??), destroy the entire surface force of the opposing team. That sounds about right to what happened in the war. You think a sub getting hit with a 5" shell from secondaries would survive more than 1 hit either? You think the showcased gameplay was underpowered? hm....

@@qyygle6058 You ignored my comment that the submarines are too fast--20 knots surfaced and 10 knots submerged will do, thank you. I could have commented on unlimited torpedoes, but that flaw extends to surface ships as well, not to mention the ability of ships with hydrophones and sonar to detect targets by sound while themselves moving at 20+ knots. Slow the subs down, and the results would still be the same. The submarine threat was perceived by surface ship commanders that the mere report of a periscope (often imaginary) was enough to make not just a single ship, but a whole squadron or fleet, do a simultaneous turn away. Most submarine attacks in World War II took place at ranges of less than 4000 yards, the average being 1500 yards, while some ace submarine commanders, determined not to miss, often closed to a point blank range of 1000-750 yards.

In terms of unbuffed speed (No EPS, Speed boost, flags, etc.) the fastest T10 sub in the game (Gato) goes faster than approximately 2 DDs (Tromp, F. Sherman). In terms of buffed speeds (EPS/ speed boost activated) The Gato goes faster than the F. Sherman, Druid, and Daring... So even the fastest T10 sub is still slower than literally 90% of T10 destroyers.

@@AKUJIVALDO And? that's what submarines do lol. Like I'm sorry that I am the one to tell you this, but bitching and moaning about how submarines (y'know - ships that literally go out of sight by submerging beneath the water) cannot be spotted isn't really a compelling argument.

WG doesn’t even pay any attention to the CCs, who are still mostly polite.

The key is - that guy changed speed twice on Flambass approad so there is a huge change of DD torps missing. He knew he is detected and he is firing back fighting. He does everything right. The problem with Gato is that is can run at you with 2,1 km concealment and launch underwater rockets from 3km without you ever seeing that thing approach or have a change of detecting it. Flambino just made an excellent shotgunning maneuvre with 2x3 torps - first set to the ship, second set to its FF predicted path. That Marseille had literally no chance

@@siriusczech the ship maintained its heading at all times. It only altered speed when it saw gatos first three torps in which is sped up trying to avoid and he launched a few more torps based on the new speed. A dad couldn’t get as close but a dd would land the same torps against a target who doesn’t make significant speed or heading changes.

because detection by hydro is based on depth. it's a captain skill that gives you a warning that says "hey, if you surface now you'll get spotted"

Im not a CC and I dont play subs, I only play all ships including subs as much as I have to. I find subs boring and unbalanced af

@@Flambass well, in the eyes of vast majority of your audience you are still viewed as a CC and while I learend A LOT from you in these 6-7 years I would still prefere to not learn from you about playing subs (or CVs (hint: Eagle) while we are at it) . Love you still tho xD
