Can i use this on my e46 with ms43 to live transfer CAN ecu data to my LapTimer app(Race Chrono) on my Phone? I want to add some data from the car to analyse the laps in my app, not just the gps Signal.
E46 uses Kline not CAN - the latter is only used to interface with buttons so you can use your cruise control for device control (don't need to go for button). But yes - this is how I do it and I align it with RaceChrono as I did on my other video before: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-IBI7_NMTPEU.html But later I used external GPS module (roughly ~£50) and created data just from Gauge.S datalog which is very convenient and easier to analyze! ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-NxEzO92UY1g.html Not sure about GPS speed performance but I would say external module is better in these regards. I guess analyzing it on app is also possible but not 100% sure.
@@sorekuk Yes i thought about just using a bluetooth obd plug and log some data from obd KLine with Racechrono. But i was thinking the Gauge.s might be directly connected to CAN and has faster data transfer?
@@RacingBernd OBD over Kline is slow - around 0.5Hz per request so I didnt implemented it. OBD over CAN is ok for cars from 2007 you can get around 80 Hz (10Hz per parameter if you log 8 of them). But MS43 doesn't have it! What MS43 has is Kline DS2 logging (especially if you use v69 patchlist with extended logs) where you have around 50 different parameters at 25 Hz rate (all of them at same time!). So with that you can do it much faster and much better. If you only select few parameters with Telegram type commands (limited to around ~20 params) then you can get around 33 Hz with. Hope that clears it up!
@@RacingBernd and yes Gauge.S works with all MS43 at 25 Hz and 33 Hz data rates - drop me a message and I can show you some logs from my car so you can see and analyze. Also on our github page is example configurations for different cars. I will help you with configuring what you need to see on your car!
@@sorekuk Thanks for your answers, i dont know a lot about all these things, Rob did my tuning and Software. I am more a Hardware Kind of guy😆. But if its possible to do logging on my car with a reasonably fast Hz rate with one of your devices i am interested 😅👍 using a windows device with tunerpro is too complicated for a racecar. 0,5hz with a cheap bluetooth obd plug sounds very slow, only usable for oil/water temp maybe? How complicated is it to Export the logs from your device to make a overlay for a onboard Video? And can my external gps device then stay connected to my laptimer app on my phone?
So if I’m right I can also use this one in my e46 racecar with race steering wheel. But can I still cycle trough the menu to display oil temp and pressure?
Tried that already. There is little space and you need to cut lots of cluster to fit it. This is why I was against it. If better/smaller screen footprint will be availible I may come back to the idea :)
BROTHER PLEASE MAKE SAME FOR E36 OBD 1 AIR VENT TYPE..... I HAVE A SEDAN OF M42 AN A COUPE WITH S50 B32.... SEE WHAT YOU CAN DO. I DONT LIKE NEWER CARS
