His father is still in his life. In another interview, he said his father and him especially got close after he entered college. Dad being imperfect or doing something bad doesn't mean son has to change his name or can't forgive.

@@apoorvavijay526 My point is that we both don't know everything that happened in their lives to fully judge. His mother had primary custody but that doesn't mean Karthik wasn't involved. He likely at least had to pay a lot of child support which would make her hard work easier. I can't be sure but it's usual in these cases. She moved to another state and Karthik had a busy career in Chennai that he couldn't just give up and relocate to where his wife was. But it's possible he did all he could to be involved with the distance and his busy schedule. We don't know. Also, we don't know that Karthik chose that arrangement where she does all the hard work. Especially back then, custody usually favors mothers and given that his wife doesn't talk to him, it's possible that she didn't make it easy for Karthik to see his kids or be involved. I'm NOT saying that was the case but merely that we don't know the full story. Of course Karthik is at fault with the 2 wives issue but we don't even know if that's why his wife left because he was married to wife number 2 for 6 years before wife number 1 left.

90s was an irky period . Kids saw movies, serials and neighborhoods buzzling with wholesome families . Divorcees were looked down upon . It also took the women snd family back then to explain such delicate topics back then . It was almost a taboo but had to live with it. Also it's natural for a child to earn for his/ her father's love and presence .

@@Darshlax34 Are we sure that's the reason Karthik and his wife separated? Because Gautham said they separated when he was 9 but he married his second wife when Gautham was 3. Seemingly he was maintaining both wives for 6 years before his first wife left him. Gautham does see his father though. They have several pictures and interviews together. Even did a movie together.

Mother conducted the wedding, brought the bridegroom to the Mantapam, even the 2nd wife/her sister was there with her son but the father came like a guest, posed for the picture & left soon.
