That was insane. You could not write it any better. What a comeback. What a finish. It was fitting that Max Gawn secured the historic win. Well done on the minor premiership. They deserve it.

As a dee's lifer, this was the best game I've ever watched, hands down.

FUN FACT: In the 9 times Demons finished top of the ladder, they were premiers 8 times, including the last time in 1964.

I had a shower at 3qt. Came back and gawn js lining up after the siren. I have never been so shocked!

Congrats Melbourne but remember not to do what my team the Crows did in 2005. That season they won the minor premiership in the last round by beating West Coast in Perth. Then they didn't even make the Grand Final. Stay hungry and don't be satisfied unless you're holding the premiership cup. Simon Goodwin was part of that team so he'll remember.

Geelong fan here - fair play to Melbourne, totally deserved it in that final quarter. Cats should’ve had it in the bag after that second quarter but if you play so poorly in the last term that’s what can happen- a mixture of complacency/trying to hold on to a lead instead of actually playing our footy and being ruthless. Some will say we “choked” as well and you can understand why after blowing that kind of lead but the players now need to dust themselves off for the tough trip to Port and show what they can do over 4 quarters (hopefully!) As I said though credit to Melbourne, they were excellent, have been all year and (as good as the finals are to watch) I always feel much more credit should go to the top team after a home/away season as they’ve been consistently the best so well done Dees👍👏

Wow! the famous 4 points by Melbourne. Reminds me of the 1964 Grand final when Neil Crompton the back Pocket for the Dees kicked the winning goal and beat the Magpies by 4 points.

It wasn't choking - it was coward coaching tactics that lost them the game. Imagine literally STOPPING offensive football with a half of football to go ... Geelong bought them right back into the game and paid the price. An absolute embarrassment for the club. Zero chance in finals and the era is finally over.

Don't understand what the hell was 50m penalty for ,that costs cats the whole game at the end .

Imagine paying 50 for punching it over the line when the players was contesting his man and never took his eyes off the ball. You can tell the umpires are on the piss by the deliberate decision moments before against melbourne. That was also a DUMB decision.
