I still stand with gura while I did understand what kiara was saying at the time that we'd more commonly pronounce it more like 1 ta 5 or just say 1 through 5 to be far less ambiguous.
In Kiara's defence you learn in more like 1 to 5 And most germans who speak englisch say it like that. So i don't blame her. I would say it also like that

Anyways the reason I'm guessing most people that go through school in English learn to say it differently is teachers would always be explicit when doing things like assigning homework "todays homework is questions 1, 2, 5, 8, etc." or "1 through 19, every odd question" basically none of them would ever say "1 2 10" because it's vocally ambiguous and that is why most English speakers also do not do that.
