There was a time when I was alone Nowhere to go and no place to call home My only friend was the man in the Moon And even sometimes he would go away too Then one night, as I closed my eyes I saw a shadow flying high He came to me with the sweetest smile Told me he wanted to talk for a while He said, "Peter Pan, that's what they call me I promise that you'll never be lonely" And ever since that day [Chorus] I am a Lost Boy from Neverland Usually hanging out with Peter Pan And when we're bored we play in the woods Always on the run from Captain Hook "Run, run Lost Boy," they say to me Away from all of reality Neverland is home to Lost Boys like me And Lost Boys like me are free Neverland is home to Lost Boys like me And Lost Boys like me are free [Verse 2] He sprinkled me in pixie dust and told me to believe Believe in him and believe in me Together we will fly away in a cloud of green To your beautiful destiny As we soared above the town that never loved me I realized I finally had a family Soon enough we reached Neverland Peacefully my feet hit the sand And ever since that day... [Chorus] I am a Lost Boy from Neverland Usually hanging out with Peter Pan And when we're bored we play in the woods Always on the run from Captain Hook "Run, run Lost Boy," they say to me Away from all of reality Neverland is home to Lost Boys like me And Lost Boys like me are free Neverland is home to Lost Boys like me And Lost Boys like me are free [Bridge] Peter Pan, Tinker Bell, Wendy Darling Even Captain Hook, you are my perfect storybook Neverland, I love you so, you are now my home sweet home Forever a Lost Boy at last And for always I will say... [Chorus] I am a Lost Boy from Neverland Usually hanging out with Peter Pan And when we're bored we play in the Woods Always on the run from Captain Hook "Run, run Lost Boy," they say to me Away from all of reality Neverland is home to Lost Boys like me And Lost Boys like me are free Neverland is home to Lost Boys like me And Lost Boys like me are free

I miss listening to Gura's karaoke songs...... I used to listen to them when I wake up, in the middle of the day, and when I'm about to sleep.... but, I want to listen to this version of gura, I mean I still like gura but it feels different, idk how to explain it properly so I'm just saying that it's just different
Hits different when you realized it's about a suicide victim. The man in the moon - friends Peter Pan - depression Lost boy - suicide victim Shadow flying high - toxic people Tinkle bell - anxiety Captain Hook - reality Neverland- heaven Pixie dust - overthinking The town - hurtful words Storybook - life
What I take from this song is that someone has been battling depression an finally kills himself, and I’ll explain. The song says “my only fried a was the man in the moon and even sometimes he would go away too.” Indicating that he was different and people didn’t like him. The lyric “then one night as I closed my eyes” symbolises him dying. “He came to me with the sweetest smile, and told me he wanted to talk for a while, Peter- pan thats what they call me. I promise that you’ll never be lonely.” To me that’s God talking to him. Saying that everything is okay now. And he’s safe. In the next verse the song says, “as we flew above the town that never loved me I relized that I finially had a family.” This kind of means he’s going to Heaven to me. “And peacefully my feet hit the sand” just makes it more obvious. “Neverland I love you so you are now my home sweet home forever a lost boy AT LAST.” He says at last just supporting my statement that he was depressed and he is finally escaping everything. Interpret this song however you like. Thinking of the song like this just made it that more beautiful, hoped I helped you think of this song in a while new way!
Everyone is entitled to their opinion but I don't think the song is about suicide at all. The moon sometimes going away is just a play on the moon setting. Closing his eyes just means entering a dream, Peter-Pan is a figment of his dream. I feel the rest is really just about finding friendship in his dreams and that dreams allow us to visit alternate realities to our own. So to finish I feel the song is more about finding yourself in your dreams and following your dreams to become reality.
All songs are open to interpretation, and if that's how it moves you then that's fair. Still, the songwriters were probably just referencing Peter Pan mythology, which in turn is inspired by victorian era Faerie mythologies. The idea being that Fairies would spirit away children, sometimes mischievously, sometimes to protect them. Fairylands are often depicted as worlds of spirits and children brought to play there would lose their memories and where time flows differently. The video for Viva Forever by the spice girls references similar fairy stories.
