Thank you for adding this powerful video. The parents were so ahead of their time. They showed such poise and intelligence in a very very difficult time for gay people. I truly hope Veronica had a good life even though I know it would have been tough. I hope you feel the love still today!! You're parents seemed very brave and very much wanted you!

I've watched couple of these Phil Donahue shows on LGBT+ topics and it would be interesting to make some sort of reunion show and see how the lives of the people turned out, what their thoughts are looking back. It's really fascinating to see the attitude difference, language difference and how much work there's left to be done. Thank You for uploading this clip😊.

It's a part of the history of LGBTQ+ families and I'm glad I can share it. It was definitely a different time. But also...the audiences could be so DUMB. XD "Do you ever get confused about who is Dad and who is Papa?" Look at then! If you saw them is there any way YOU would. I got that question from every host or audience.

What work "still needs to be done"?? The LGBT movement have lost the plot. We cant even define what a woman is. Men are competing against women and girls in sport. Children are being groomed with gender ideology and drag shows in schools. Kids lives are being ruined from hormones and sex changes. Our language is being policed as if living in a dictatorship. I dont have nothing against gay people but the entitlement, authoritarian and radical nature of the movement these days is not creating more allies. Stonewall and other LGBT entities are turning into a dangerous oppressive cult. Women had a celebratory march for International womens day recently, and there were LGB/Trans activists protesting the women, and demanding they "stop celebrating there gender". If gay people dont see any problems with this, or think they will continue to get mainstream support I think they are mistaken. When gay people got mainstream support and gay marriage, instead of being satisfied, they started pushing new radical, extreme policies across the board. I think these strategies will backfire in the long run.

Your parents are so lovely that the audience is largely charmed into support -- which was rare back then. Sorry to realize that two of them are no longer with us.

Another channel posted bits and pieces of other talk shows that your parents and you were on. If you have anymore, I'd love to see them! They handled themselves so well. Of course people were going to judge them, but they were so open to answering all the questions in such a kind way. ❤

Its not so easy to just go out snd have kids! Thats where some of these discriminations are steming from. I notice alcoholics use thus addiction to sustain, work, marriage, and having kids... this is a factor. In truth. Also, the fact of, sober religious people would not choose sin over respectfully getting to know people with boundaries and reason. A true sober religious person in God. Would want to be mature. That means overcoming disadvantages. When a person accepts truth and learns from the humility of disadvantages in life... they respect the love and support in their life. Gay people are in every culture. And there are precautions to be safe and healthy with the way they were born. Mb gay people were made to teach ungrateful straight sinners about being safe and thankful? Mb thats a purpose to look into and make better decisions about! ( if people believed truly in the Lord is maker of all)

alot of gay men buy their children. and who are the women that do this??? alot of money too.
@kandrinchae

I’m sorry, but I do believe you are mistaken. Badly. Gay men do not ‘buy’ their children, anymore than straight people do. In fact, Straight people spend even more on adoption and surrogacy than the lgbtq+ community . Please research before spreading baseless and potentially harmful information.

I looked it up and apparently Bert died in 1994. I wonder what happened to mom and Geoffrey? 🥲. Also I see you dropped the Worcester name. Hope you are well Veronica.

My papa Bert passed away in 94 from AIDS. My mom passed away in 2016 from complications of Addison's Disease. My dad (Geof) is still alive and living in San Francisco. I myself live in Oregon and have my own family. I've 2 of my own children, 2 step-children, and 3 surrogate children.

@@kandrinchae Thank you for letting me know. You are absolutely a part of gay parenting history yourself. I’m actually old enough that I probably saw that show when it was first on. Also I remember hiding in my room with an old time cassette recorder recording just the audio from a Phil Donahue show called children of gays. I have no idea when that one aired because I think he did several. Take care. as someone who has an adopted child with my now former partner of 12 years. I really wanted to check on you guys. I’m so sorry about your papa. And of course your mom. I did find information about her but it was Geof I couldn’t find anything about. Thank you again for answering. I remember living in San Francisco in the 80s also. And as a young woman it was hard to be totally out even then, but things are so much easier now. I wish they had lived to see how things have changed.

@@kandrinchae Oh my gosh, I am so sorry for your loss! You came from very cool people! I'm happy that you still have dad. ❤❤❤ Do you remember being on the Donahue show?

My Dad is very private person. Due to disability he also doesn't have much of an online presence. As for the Worcester name, I do still use it. But in our electronic age of forms there isn't room for both names. When there is I try to use it.
