Trust me i have been confused the whole time until i saw this!?i was like Arki like is it his hidden name I didnt get in the first episodes😁😂😂buh thanks to you now am okay
so i rewatched this for the nth time and... 1. karl finding out vlad's birthday through his driver's license. he now understands why vlad is being a grinch and "not a fan of christmas." 2. vlad having the same birthday on christmas means he share the same zodiac sign as jesus. this explains the line "he's too forgiving to be a capricorn." because unlike jesus, he still hasn't forgive his mom because of idk reasons. 3. "i refuse to be a plot device that triggers somebody else's identity crisis... not again." so was this the reason of their breakup? kasi if yes this can also happen with karl and i hate myself for thinking about this pa huhu. 4. karl's note on the picture frame saying "you can put this wherever you like" is a callback to episode 3 wherein karl wouldn't allow him to decorate any space (vlad's i am nesting line). and then in the hi neighbor scene karl got angry when he wore his shoes inside so he also got him slippers. uwu. 5. vlad saying he's celebrating noche buena with his friends when he's actually alone and sad huhuhuhu nooooo 6. karl (accidentally) brought home the jockstrap. the present that vlad opened was karl's gift to his parents. so they ended up switching gifts. cuties. 7. sue said that vlad tends to lament on the fact that he shares the same birthday as jesus so when they celebrated it, karl makes an effort in putting the decors away so vlad can feel that they're celebrating his birthday and not anyone else's. i mean, vlad didn't even mention it and just asked karl to have a proper "noche buena" instead of making it about him and his birthday. 8. 27:18 i think everyone knows this na but the outro part describes their relationship in every episode. and the remote as karl's heart. in ep1 to ep3 vlad doesn't seem interested in getting the remote and all of it was just karl holding it and assuming that vlad will steal it but in this episode vlad was like "can i have it?" YES NAFALL NA SYA DAHIL LANG SA PANCAKE VLAD MARUPOK VLAD MABILIS BUMIGAY VLAD BAKLA NG TAON 9. 22:36 so at first vlad was like "meh" when he heard about the theme song test, but when the theme song played he actually did it and saw karl. hays i bursted all my uwus :( (just saw this in the comments i cant believe i forgot this one) 10. for international neighbors, the note was more of like "put ME wherever you like." than '"put this wherever you like" because he used "ko" so vlad just hugged it cause he wanted karl in his arms. anyways, karl made PANCAKES. like its their endearment diba? pERO KARL BAKIT PANCAKES TOTOO BA YUNG RELASYON NYO HA? TOTOO?HHAHAHAHAH CHAROT (i saw that some int fans didnt get these stuff kaya ayan😚 and pls lets appreciate everything in this series this is soooo good and funny and cute grr) so tapos na yung series putangina ayoko mangspoil pero kase😭😭😭😭😭😭 i dont know how to move on from this.😭😭😭😭😭😭😭 besst bl so far😭😭😭😭for the people reading this please pray for season 2😭😭😭😭😭
that feeling when the moment of realization kicks in me with those details i missed, IT MAKES MORE SENSE NOW i need to watch this ep again GUSTO KO NA NAMNAMIN ANG BAWAT PANGYAYARI ♥️
Sheet!!!! Ang galing mo. .3 times ko na siyang punanood pero4 lng sa mga sinabi ang natumbok ko. . .sana mabasa ito ng mga panay harot lng ang hinihintay na scene sa bl series na to. .hahahah. . Good job broh. Ang taba ng utak mo :)
PAO MADE PANCAKES FOR IAN RIN ON HIS BIRTHDAY BTW HAHAHA Then on Twitter, Pao's mom admitted that he really isn't a good cook but also that he has never cooked pancakes for anyone in their family-- so far, only for Ian 💖 Ang cute tanginA
Vlad dancing alone drunk at his birthday and christmas made me cry, being alone on your birthday/holiday is a different heart breaking kind of loneliness.
Ehhh.... I'm not even celebrate my birthday. It's because my family was poor and didn't have the luxury for birthday party when I was young; and now when my family's situation is better, the concept of birthday party has became so alien and redundant. Thus my birthday is just like any other day.
Vlad dancing alone in his birthday shows that dancing is his way of coping with loneliness and heartaches. That scene was so beautiful 💜 Edit: I can't believe so many related to this scene and to my comment 💜 I hope everyone who is in similar phase as Vlad find your light soon. Much love fam💜
The beautiful daydream he was having while dancing had me in tears! Which is not easy to do! Happy but sad weare already half way through already, please season 2 announced soon 🙏
The emotions, the music, Karl's illusion, the lighting..... Everything was so perfect, yet so sad. It highlighted how Vlad is actually longing for company and doesn't want to be alone. So beautiful 🥰😍
Vlad’s iconic lines: Ep.1: “Hi neighbor” Ep.2: “So why act like I just accused you of a crime?” Ep.3: “I AM NESTING” Ep.4: “Jesus is way too forgiving to be a Capricorn” “I refuse to be a plot device that triggers somebody else’s identity crisis” there’s probably a ton more but hey (Edit): drop the iconic lines you heard in the last few eps. there’s a lot, but I only included here the lines that sticked in my head in each episode
@@abrqzx wag siraan ang iba para mas ma-itaas ang atin. Just enjoy the show. We are just grateful we have plenty of BL series to watch. Dont spreas negativity
Damn, how is this show so good? And there's already three female characters, and not one of them is a jealous, conniving monster! Vlad is clearly the writer's surrogate. He gets all the best lines, and I love it. That last shot of him was so great. You could literally see him going, "Oh shit, I really like this guy." I'm so proud of Karl for realizing that Vlad would want someone there to celebrate his birthday, even if he didn't want to admit it. Also, my girl Anna needs to become Karl's manager, so that she can hound all of the clients who try to stiff him.
Can we spare a moment to talk about anna's acting and how she slayed, representing the struggle of a freelance worker here in the Philippines? You know... always binabarat with tooo many revs from employers.

Funny that some people would feel disappointed when they receive a picture frame as gift in any Christmas gift exchanges, but in this drama it hits differently when Karl gifted it to Vlad. It has so much meaning. Remember when Vlad told Karl, "you don't even allow me to decorate any space."
22:17 Bahala Ka kung Sa'n mo 'ko ilalagay ...then Vlad chose to embrace it, near his heart, dancing over a music, as he slowly imagines the picture frame come to life. Karl enters...into his life. Ladies and Gentlemen, we now have a theme song, just like in the movies, ika nga.
"It's a pagan-turned-capitalist holiday. Don't bring Jesus into this, he's too forgiving to be a capricorn" LMFAOOOOOOOOOOO finally a BL written by a gay person, this is the sass missing from all other BLs
#GayaSaPelikula is not just a BL series, it's a cultural reset, the oxygen you breathe, it's a lifestyle, an escape from this cruel world full of thieves, it's an art, the first gift you open on Christmas, the hug from a loved one, the cure for depression, a reason to live, it's a belief, it's everything you ever wanted
AM I THE ONLY ONE WHO'S BEEN REWATCHING THIS EPISODE???? LIKE I NEED THE NEXT EPISODE. THEIR CHEMISTRY IS SOOOO GOOD! Edit: I didn't expect to gather this much likes. lmao. Anywaysss, let's support our pancakes all the wayyy :>> AND don't forget to rewatch each episodes! 😂
I can't justify calling this a bl anymore. Its far to thought provoking and grown up for that title, masterpiece in film, acting, script and not to mention that Patricia did an absolutely amazing job with the music choices. Its so much more then a bl and thank you globe for gifting the world with this beauty
I agree! The quote at the end was great! And how they're awkward but still affectionate in their little actions towards each other is very real and believeable. Love this BL.
Yes I may say this by far is the best ph bl series up to date, everything is so good, the acting, the script, the story and music, ugh!!! Basta! The best! 😂
We need more series like this with depth, no exaggerated scenes and lines, just very heartwarming. This is definitely well-written. The actors are doing a really great job. Kudos to the whole team, you’re rockin it.
People should understand how big of a deal it is that Karl removed the Christmas decorations on Christmas Day just for Vlad’s birthday. Decorations can go up as early as September and stay up until mid January in the Philippines. Karl wasn’t joking when the decorations were late. If I were Vlad, I’d be shaken to the core. I think he was, don’t you think?
Yeah. When Vlad said just left the socks and he did, It's like someone made an effort to glorify his request especially on his b-day and I felt it. I stan for this BL dunno why but it has something very special about it.
"I refuse to be a plot device that triggers somebody else's identity crisis only to be left alone in the end, you know?" i cannot explain how relevant this is, being some sort of an experimental phase just for people to leave you hanging is really.. thank you for this
In the last chapter of *Quaranthines series* they touched this same topic Amazing series and with suc a strong message like this one. Beautiful beautiful chapter they gave us today ❤️❤️
well, the mere fact na ung pren ni vlad, susan, i think her name is, ”joke” na patulan nya maski straight...is problematic. when will series/movies focken stop doin that? if feels like pg gay ka u fall in love/pumapatol ka sa straight?! nganga! balakayojan lol
@@jayyyppp94 Nahhh actually Philippines has many official languages it's 9 together with English. We also have dialects from different regions, to sum it up we have 200 plus languages.
The fact that Karl removed the Christmas decors on Christmas day to put up the Happy Birthday decors for Vlad. He sees you, Vlad. The feeling of having your birthday is the same as Christmas, or new year or even any other holiday in the Philippines somehow takes away the feels that you get to have a day that you own in a year. That speaks a lot. Congratulations to everyone behind this series and I am so proud that I got to share a moment or two with some of them in my lifetime :)
I feel that on deep level even though I actually share my birthday with my mother and not with an Holiday. Ever since I was a child, the idea that my birthday wasn't /mine/ really ruined the mood, especially because my mother and I have never been on good terms. And exactly like Vlad, I don't celebrate my birthday anymore. 😂 I just stay in my room and listen to music, and only come out when we have relatives over for lunch because it's my mother's bday after all...
I was just thinking that. The reason why he doesn’t celebrate his birthday is because he shares it with someone else and everyone values the holiday more than him. Karl abandoned his tradition of Christmas decors and his own individuality to show importance to someone he just met; which for me goes beyond what Christmas (as Filipinos have known) is all about.
For those who don't understand the song at the end!! The song is "Tahahan" by Nica del Rosario "Tahanan" is "home" in Tagalog. The lyrics in the chorus is a play on words. "Tahan na" is what we say when someone is crying, usually followed by pats on the back or, like what we saw in the scene where imaginary Karl appears in Vlad's drunk imagination, they *hug* Hence, "Tahan na, dito sa'king yakap, may tahanan ka." Although "tahan" does not have a direct English word equivalent, the lyric very, very roughly translates to: "Please don't cry. Here in my embrace, you have a home" or "Find comfort in my embrace; here you have a home" So, "tahanan" and "tahan na" are used here to pertain to a person we call home and in whom we find comfort. Hope this helps! And if anyone has better translation suggestions/extra information, feel free to share! 💖💖💖🏳️🌈
In Indonesian we also use the word tahan for someone who's crying or in pain, but we use it more to someone who is in pain or crying because one is in pain hahahaha, I just didn't know that we are so related in many unexpected ways
I completely missed the lyrics only because I was so entranced by Vlad's scene the entire time! And is it just me or you know that feel when the musical scoring is so good that it blends in so well and builds the mood that you don't even notice it? It's perfect 🤧🤧💖💖
@@jomalenepenaflor1381 omg yes!! The musical scoring here is so good that it's already a part of the moment. It's almost impossible to imagine their hug scene without the slow fade of the music and the magic that happens when the piano enters with the violin 😭💖 Even Vlad's drunk dancing has a mood that fits so well with the song Tahanan! Bitter loneliness from spending the eve of his birthday alone but with the innocence of slowly falling for Karl and realizing he just did the Theme Song Test!! Jusko I can't stop geeking out about every detail I notice in this series. Pat Lasaten (keyboarist of Ben&Ben and the one who did the music here) did so well in translating the characters' emotions into the music. Mas na-hurt ako lalo 😭💖💖
Details that most viewers might not noticed: 1. Karl found out Vlad's bday bc he saw his driver's license in the first part. 2. Drunk Vlad daydreaming that he is hugging Karl is his own theme song test. 3. Karl called Vlad Mr Jockstrap bc he mistakenly brought home the gift of sue. The gift that vlad did open is Karl's gift for his relatives(it was shown in his list on his laptop)
4. Also the picture frame with the note “Place this wherever you like”. Vlad placed it near his heart and started dancing. Its from Karl so he’s placing it near his heart!
actually, the writer posted kung paano nalaman ni karl na bday ni vlad. according sa draft, nung ep 1, ate judit asked vlad kung paano nya cecelebrate ang christmas and his bday. habang kasama ni karl yung family nya, while opening the gifts na supposedly for vlad, naalala nya yung tanong ni ate judit from ep 1 and sooo they (karl) asked their mom kung may repolyo sila hence the repolyo with hotdgs na naka-stick WHAHAHAHHAHA
Some random thoughts: 1) Karl founding out Vlad's birthdate is Christmas day through his driver's license. Karl now understands why Vlad is being a Grinch and "not a fan" of Christmas. 2) Vlad having his birthday on Christmas means he share the same zodiac as Jesus'. This would explain the line "he's too forgiving to be a Capricorn" coz unlike Jesus he still hasn't forgiven his mom for whatever offense his mom did. 3) Vlad prepping up before his video call with Karl is damn cute. 😊 4) Karl's note on the picture frame saying "you can put this wherever you like" is a callback to episode 3 wherein Karl wouldn't allow him to decorate their pad (Vlad's "I am nesting" line) 5) Vlad giving Karl the side eye before making a wish and blowing the candle is telling me that his wish is Karl😅
Tbh it was such a plot twist that Karl is straight (for now),. When I first watched the show, I thought Vlad will be pretending to be gay because he is so masculine, and that Karl is an out gay because he is so effeminate, but turns out it's the opposite. This show breaks cliche and Im loving it.
true! even the subtle characterizations are on point! In a previous episode, Karl eats so prim and properly, while a (possibly) starving Vlad is a messy eater.
didn't they make it clear/obvious that both boys are actually gay in the first ep? Vlad has had a breakup with a boy and Karl's uncle dropped hints in his phone call with Karl. the uncle himself is gay too as Karl revealed a little later to Vlad
FR THO. i assumed he was gay just bc of him being the main character and it was giving obvious clues that he was attracted to vlad before he said he was straight
Anna: When you listen to music while your eyes are closed and then you see a person, it means that you like to be with that person. Vlad: *rolls eyes to the back of his skull* Also Vlad: *dances to music while hugging a picture frame too tight, imagining it was Karl* How adorable. ❤️
"Jesus is too forgiving to be a Capricorn" has to the funniest lines I have ever heard and I really loved this episode. It was funny, sad, and sweet at the same time. Hats off to Ian Pangilinan for making a pouty and jealous look while still looking cute. I loved this episode. I am loving this series so far.
Hahha same here. Most pinoy bl series are cringey but this one is different. This is really good. Good actors, good cinematography, hindi mukhang budgeted.
Today my exam results released ..my grades are below average.. I don't want to know my parents that I'm worried that why I came saw bl... Good to see your cmmt dudee
ok but as a person whose birthday is on December 25th, someone putting off Christmas to celebrate your birthday is love. WAIT NO it's marriage. in conclusion, vlad and karl are both married to each other before they knew it. thank you for coming to my TedTalk
This episode is the sweetest, and the saddest as we got to see Vlad's interior, longing for someone even at solitude. The next day after his birthday, when we got to see Karl return and surprised him was one of best gestures of love given to him. And that closing shot, like in the previous episode, indicates he felt feelings for Karl. This series really takes you on a spin of emotions!
Don’t know bruh, these phillipines BL gives meaning and objective in every each of their Lines and Screen time,, The scene is not just there to pass the time so the episode will be long, but they have meaning and purpose for the sake of the story in every each of it.
Ugh the production of this show just hits so differently compared sa mga nagsulputang BL series. Everything about it is award winning from the acting, direction, cinematography, to the musical scores. P.s. the way how the director made the credit scene na getting closer si Vlad and Arki kada episode is just e x q u i s i t e
" I refuse to be a plot device that triggers somebody else's identity crisis" ISTG THE LINES IN THIS SERIES IS SOOOOOO CLEVER AND EXCITINGGG I FEEELLLLL!!!
You could also say that Vlad actually opened the “right” gift in the end. The picture was a family portrait, with Karl on the right, his mum in the middle and dad on the left. When Vlad pulls it out of the paper, you can see his eyes drawn to Karl’s image and that same ethereal smile spread across his face from earlier in the episode. Every time he looks at the picture, he’s always looking at Karl, whether it’s on the sofa or while he’s dancing. Even in his drunken dance, there's a clever little expression of "I see you". It’s a perfect yet unplanned interruption of the self-destructive path that he was on the verge of heading down with the text to his ex. The gift mix-up should have sent him further into his spiral - what a way to top everything else off that’s gone wrong than the present from your best friend being lost - but it was inadvertently the gift he “really” wanted, and so instead we get to see him lift out of his mood as he chooses to embrace his little new home and the person he’s sharing it with, and in doing so finds that maybe everything isn’t as hopeless as it seems. It's such a subtle and genuine detail that's easy to overlook with the low lighting, but for it me it totally changes the interpretation of the scene from something sad to something with a lot more hope and awakening. There’s a lovely setup here in that Karl’s gift of a frame is not only inviting him to “nest”, but it’s also empty - so it becomes an invitation for Vlad to create his own “family portrait”. I’m rooting for a picture of the two of them in it by the end of the season. Also, can we give Sue massive props for basically being Vlad’s guardian angel this episode!! ^_^
oh, wow! i love your insights. i agree, hopefully we get to see a picture of them on that picture frame by the end. and yes, Sue. omg. we all need a friend like Sue.
You gave it more meaning that it already has. I love this! Especially the part when he hugged Karl's gift for him and the music started saying "tahan tahan na". Wow. This making me feel more things I haven't felt before.
Too bad you missed the most important part here: It was VLAD the one who changed the presents. Go back to the moment when Arki tells him "You got presents deliver" and see how Vlad sees one present is from Karl to his parents and the other is his from his best girl friend SUE. Both presents have the same paper, and so he probably just changed the cards on them. That is why he was already happy opening Karl's present even if he didn't know what was inside. And that is why he apologizes to Arki when he tells him: "Hey... Mr. Jockstrap." and Karl says: "Let it go" caressing his hair; because he knows it was Vlad the one to exchange the presents. Cheers...!
Karl removed the Christmas decors to make Vlad feel that their celebrating his birthday and not the Christmas itself. That's just my thought, not sure!! Hehhe...
The story is sooo smooth. No cringe scene. No waste scenes. I'm the type of person who forward a lot in every show. But this one. Damn... Soo worth it.. I need moooore!! We Bl fans need more!!!
Oo nga... No cringe acting. Walang tapon pati yung mga supporting characters. Walang tapon mga scenes. Plus sobrang lakas pa ng chemistry nilang dalawa.
A dude is really into you if he starts to: - annoy you a lot in all type of ways to get your full attention to him - mimicking your actions - making body contact in purpose - looking at you unnoticeably while knowing things you do and smirk on it Damnnn Vlad is so cuteeee when he does all that to Karl 😍
The background music and this girl's voice makes me want to be all lovey dovey with someone. I don't even know what she's singing about but it sounds beautiful!
The song is tahanan which means home the song is telling us that when find someone that makes feel secure ,loved, and comportable that person is your home cause that's what is home is all about making you feel all those feelings in vlad"s case Karl is he's home😉
Idk I feel a bit disappointed that a lot of reactors only see Vlad's Theme Song Test as a bait or the producer trying to play with our feelings, when all the while they always make it clear for us when they're dreaming (because it's just like in the movies, things that we're used to seeing in movies that's why we always know). That scene is so important because it's consistent with Sue's description of what Vlad really thinks about his birthday. It's not to trick us, and this is the message that they want us to listen to. "When solitude teaches you something, embrace it." Because Vlad embraced it and he knows how he feels towards Karl now. (Credit scene with how Vlad wanted to take Karl's remote but Karl wasn't ready to give it, and Vlad wanted Karl to have his ocra) I just think people need to stop thinking that Gaya Sa Pelikula wants to bait us with those scenes, they're telling a story and the actors work so hard in expressing the feelings with their acting skills. They're not trying to bait straight girls into getting crazy over the intimate scenes. That dancing scene and also the birthday celebration are so consistent with the whole structure of the whole story it's actually pretty rare among BL series. So many reactors just get crazy over the hug scene while ignoring how much of an emotional mess Vlad was in the Theme Song Test. Well anyway at least now I know whose reaction videos I'll watch for future episodes.
Let's just cut them some slack, they're very used to the generic BLs where everything is as what's flashed on the screen. I've noticed this since Episode 1, this series requires intelligent viewing, and if I'm being honest, the depth is not for everyone. One would need to get pass all the fluff to get to the core of the story, and not all viewers can do that. I'm pretty sure, these reactors and viewers will get to come around the fact that these God-tier BLs from the Philippines are not their typical BL. 😊
Louder!!!! But still I do love their support to this series, thus at least contribute to the success and viewers of the series. But as the writer said, they're here to express and it's up to us to whether learned something and enjoyed it. Because fortunately there are a lot of BL series now in the Philippines, and it's a movement with a louder voice saying, "it's our time, you should also know that we exist and valid."😍
@@damned2058 I didn't mention the other BLs because I know that series can also be viewed as pure entertainment as well so if they want to see it for the kisses, for the intimate scenes then sure. It's just a bit sad to see that people don't notice the fact that these BL series are seen this way is no progression towards the LGBTQ community here in Asia. It's only when it's shown that Gay romance series can be made with real contents, good actings, good dialogues, great shootings, and more that people will see the LGBTQ community in Asia in another light. This series is good even just as a series itself without the BL tag but many seem to come here for the tag and I guess as you said a lot of reactors are used to generic BL styles and don't notice how crazily consistent are the little Easter eggs put by the producer; how much details are given in such a short scene that people see as baiting; some reactors who really took the contents seriously cried so hard knowing what Karl had done for Vlad and how much it meant for him. Some people even question how could Vlad fall in love so quickly but seriously who wouldn't with how everything is laid out. The smartest detail in this episode was how Vlad mocked himself by saying Jesus is much more forgiving than he is just shows how he thinks that he's being petty about getting angry over sharing a birthday with Jesus, and everyone gives the attention to Jesus instead of him. Everything Sue said about Vlad's opinion towards Christmas is absolutely on point.
@@georgetangaro9652 I just really like the fact that these producers aren't making these series just to get the attention, the contents are about real issues, the characters are flawed and that's why they feel real and we can see things in their shoes. You can see that the writers and producers attempted to know how LGBTQ people really live in this part of the world instead of fabricating a world where everything seems perfect. Some may argue that they want to do series in a light-hearted way, but Gaya Sa Pelikula is the living proof that you can mention a lot of real issues and remain light-hearted. All you need is to do your research and find good actors instead of just good looking actors who don't know how to act. And stop with the forced sex/kisses scenes, it's not sexy even to Chinese straight girls who enjoyed the Executive style man anymore. So yeah I also am looking forwards to Lakan too, the acting might be a bit awkward but the plots and dialogues seem promising.
Karl accidentally saw Vlad's license thing and saw his birthdate there. Karl gave Vlad 2 gifts certainly: a Christmas gift, and a Birthday gift. Karl video calling Vlad even if I know he's busy at home for his surprise. Karl made an effort to eliminate the Christmas vibe to be replaced by balloons and everything to let Valid feel they're celebrating his birthday, not just the Christmas. KAAAARL WE KNOW!! Pretending isn't convincing anymore.🤩🤩
actually, the writer posted kung paano nalaman ni karl na bday ni vlad. nung ep 1, ate judit asked vlad kung paano nya cecelebrate ang christmas and his bday. habang kasama ni karl yung family nya, while opening the gifts na supposedly for vlad, naalala nya yung tanong ni ate judit from ep 1 and sooo they (karl) asked their mom kung may repolyo sila hence the repolyo with hotdgs na naka-stick WHAHAHAHHAHA
Vlad in his real and vulnerable state. Hugging the orca stuffed animal shows how much he needs company on his most important day or lowest point of his life. Emotion is real!!
I like how the content included the "Law of Proximity" which shows that 'people who interact and live close to each other will be more likely to develop a relationship', according to Wikipedia. This is actually True. and I love how they showed it on this episode. 1. Vlad unconsciously misses Arki because Nasanay na siya na lagi silang magkasama(nangungulit sa chat nung wala si Arki for Noche Buena) 2. Na aadapt nila parehas ung ugali ng isa't isa and they are not aware of it like paghuhugas ng pinggan, panonood ng TV, seeking attention pag may ibang tao(nag seselos sa atensiyon si Vlad nung andun si Anna sa condo) 3. Looking into each other's perspective and point of view, which definitely an element and a key ingredient of a relationship(empathy) - Vlad chose to let Arki have the christmas decoration even though hindi siya naniniwala sa Christmas, dahil alam niyang dun masaya si Arki. In return, Arki also removed the decors to consider Vlad's opinion) 4. Looking for each other's sake and security(nag aalala si Arki na walang matitirhan si Vlad and baka may mangyari sa kanyang masama) 5. eventually showing care and affection(Arki putting up a birthday surprise for Vlad) 6. Decisions made are mutual unti-unti. And this, guys, is psychological explained by Law of Proximity and The Propinquity Effect.
The best talaga ang gaya sa pelikula we love you paolo and ian, grabe excited na ko mas maganda pa to sa titanic 😍😍😍😍😍
Which i guess is the main objective of the writer “gege”. A romcom sabi pa nya. BL is a genre of course, but it shouldn’t be. #TrulyAMasterpiece #Equality
Is anyone gonna talk about a drunk Vlad dancing with Karl’s gift and how he holds it to his chest and imagines Karl actually being there? The hug Vlad gave is what I call a "criss-cross" hug. It's a hug that gives both parties equal opportunities to have the role of the "under hugger" and "super hugger" (one who hugs with arms below the other party and one who hugs with arms above the shoulders of the other party, respectively). This means a lot as Vlad is opening himself up to Karl. An under hug means submission or opening oneself up and a super hug means protection or authority. Ofc not for everyone, but you get the point. A criss-cross hug is a combination of both.
I use to describe and explain the role and act of the under and super hugger to all my friends all the time..FINALLY there’s another person out there like me 🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻👏👏👏😁😁😁
@@moyau I had to come up with this one as I wrote it tbh. Hahahaha. Although, it's been in my head for a LONG time already. I worked in the counseling industry and am a huuuuge hugger myself, too. People tend to underestimate the hug and are largely, LARGELY, uneducated about the different types and their meanings. Fun fact: there's also an intimate, non-sexual hug I call "the cup". Depending on one's height, the hugger would do an under hug with one arm whilst the other hand cups either the nape of the neck or the back of the head. This is a protective/comfort/"ownership" hug. I am glad that Vlad DID NOT do this to the imaginary Karl during this scene because it would be too quick and too intimate at the moment.
"I refuse to be a plot device that triggers somebody else identity crisis, only to be left alone in the end you know? Not again" - Vlad the TRAUMA mygosh, i can relate to this one (my story is in the reply ⬇️)
This series is surely creeping up to the top tier in the BLdom. Just the layers and subtle nuances alone are like tiny sparks of fireflies glittering under the moonlight giving you that perfect moment vibe that only a bunch of people with depth can relate to. Another obra maestra that is giving other dramas in the BL genre a run for their money. Ok, cinematography wise, with the budget on the whole production consideration, we're not as blessed as our Asian neighbors who have more to spend to upgrade the quality to the highest visual levels possible, but man, the talents, creativity, heart and passion that one can feel upon watching these series definitely make up for it. Keep it up guys, i only wish this wonderful thing that is happening during this pandemic deal will not fizzle too quickly in the future, nor will it be extinguished by societal threats coming from "moral norm"-biased bigots.
I absolutely love the part where Vlad dances by himself! He applies Anna’s theme song test and of course, he imagines Karl!! What made it even more adorable is the fact he was embracing Karl’s gift, which is such a significant easter egg as Karl is officially giving him freedom sa unit. “Tahanan” is the perfect song to reinforce the whole scene! ❤️❤️❤️
Can I just say Philippines BL series have beautiful songs? I watched Hello Stranger, Game Boys, MyDay the Series and this... I just want to download each every OST and put it on my playlist listening while just chillin' in my house... It's so calming in the ears 💆🏻🎧
Vlad’s line of “I refuse to be a plot device that triggers somebody else’s identity crisis only to be left alone in the end... not again.” Really caught my attention. Is it perhaps the same ex/person he’s always calling for help?
According to the few chapters posted in wattpad, yes vlad has an ex, and they are in the same organization but their relationship is not known to everyone because his ex doesn't want to come out as gay (not straight)
grabe iba talaga ang gaya sa peliula this is the best series na napanuod ko sa buong buhay ko pati stranger things tinalo nila grabe, pati si millie bobbie brown naiyak kasi natalo sila. The best talaga ang gaya sa pelikula we love you paolo and ian, grabe excited na ko mas maganda pa to sa titanic 😍😍😍😍😍
A comment to appreciate the caste and crew and directors and just everyone involved with the show, even the audience. I hope you all read this. This show is such a breath of fresh air. Every subtleties and details and the way the LGBTQ community is portrayed and supported is just amazing. The leads are doing such a great job that I've been watching their lives even when I only understand the English parts. I love that they watched some good documentaries before starting the show, this itself shows how much effort they are putting into this and I can see it through their acting. The supporting caste is doing a great job as well. Love the sister, she represents all of us, the allies😅, and the neighbor, our scorpion queen and I'm sure this girl in the episode 4 who will make Vlad jealous will do an equally amazing job. Now, the directors, writers, producers and the rest of the crew, thanks for the hard work and making this show possible. I love everything about it. The comedy scenes are light and seems like not that unique, but somehow the way they are woven into this show makes them feel fresh and it works and I laugh every time. And I love how Vlad is teaching the audience about the community and how to act normally around them while he is teaching Carl. Till now, I have not found anything to criticize about this show. Just love love love it. Feels like it's going to be one of my top favourite BLs of all time. AND, the music 👏👏👏👏👏👏👏 Audience, you are watching a great show. I love your choice.
Definitely a breath of fresh air, yes it's cliche but this show is give us the important message about lgbtq+ which is I feel seen, they also show us how some "allies" can be problematic like his sister, and that's true, some people call themselves allies and tell us about how they love lgbtq+ that somehow it's just all about themselves, and remember, allies is claimed by oppressed group not claimed by allies themselves
@@13liveforlove Sorry, didn't mean to offend anyone. I just like the show and the characters and i find the show funny and was just making comparison about allies in a funny way, just like it's shown in the show. Please, don't take it in the negative light.
I personally like this series a lot......chemistry of actors r great.....n thanks for English subtitle.....we viewers r thankful n feel greatful to watch such amazing series.....more n more I watched more I get excited....keep fighting we goona keep supporting u guys.....lots of love from northeast India fan.....
@@hope4098 it's cool! I think we all agree that the thing we love about Judit here is being supportive ally, but we also can criticize her actions which is I hope that can open people's mind and I hope this show keep educating all of us :)
Theme Song Test: When you listen to a music and then you closed your eyes, and then you see a person, it means you like to be with that person Vlad: Sees Karl My heart is shaking 😍
So far, THIS series has the BEST script EVER!!...in a Philippine BL I've watched. It's in a way thoughtful and intelligent, nothing BS and corny like any other typical ones. Love it!
@@metamikki854 : For me currently, it's "My Day." Absolutely, adore the series and love Inaki and Miko completly, to pieces. This one however, if it keeps going like this, could beat out "My Day" yet, it's so, very, close now. I'm also watching "Amore" and "Quaranthings" but they don't compare for me. Not bad, but they don't come close to these two for my taste. My Best. Out.
The details is too on point. The bunting banner bearing “Happy Birthday” is written in an architectural style font. Karl is an architecture student... wew
Karl's gifts were: Slippers because it is Vlad's home too and a picture frame for him to place wherever he likes. Karl is really serious when he said "You have a place here" to Vlad.
The picture frame gift from Karl with a note - put me anywhere you like, is also his peace offering gift to Vlad, because Vlad told him before, "you don't even allow me to decorate any space".
this is the best BL series ever. even better than those ones from Thailand. i’ve never felt the urge to cringe in this series and you can really just understand what the advocacy of this series is. not just about two boys falling in love.
“I refuse to be a plot device that triggers someone else identity crisis” I dunno but I really felt that ‘cause I’ve experienced it. Hat’s off to Ian Pangilinan a.k.a. Vlad
The director's instructions was for Ian to make a wish for him and Paolo, not Vlad and Karl. What's weird tho is that at 25:40, you'll notice he looked at Paolo first before making the wish. I'm dead 😍
I’m so late to find this, but I’m glad This is must be the best script and plot and act I’ve ever seen in a BL series The dialogue is smart and flowing, the acting is on point and not a cringe moment Everyone plays their parts perfectly I don’t see any extra They’re all main characters, I totally love this And Vlad, you are my new crush ...
Is anyone notice’s Vlads “Pink Milk Tea” hehe 😜, its so cute. Adapted Thai vibes. Another thing, Vlad and Sue’s English accents are similar and on point 👌🏻.
@@rozaizes357 They speak in the district accent of many upper to middle class Filipinos, it’s considered a more neutral and americanized filipino accent
I'd totally want, as a Capricorn, a bad*ss t-shirt with this printed on it " Jesus is way too forgiving to be a Capricorn". The quote I never knew I needed😅
Why Philipins are soo good at making BL series ?? Like they dont focus on romantic things but cover everything around you and the way actor deliver the dialogue , their expression is not cringy , it feels soo real . Nowadays , I see more potential on Philipines BL series . Love from Nepal ❤
I said this already to other comments but here are the reasons why Filipino BLs are more natural and easy to watch: Majority of Filipino BLs tackle LGBTQIA topics, they also show Filipino sensibilities/values and how Filipinos fall in love. i.e. Hello Stranger and Gameboys to name a few. Common denominator of these Filipino BLs are the creators of the shows. Bunch of the directors, writers and producers are members of the LGBTQIA community as well, so they know exactly how to tell the story genuinely. We appreciate all BLs tho, the difference now is that we have a lot of stories to choose from and avoid the problematic ones 👍🏼👍🏼
I stopped watching other BLs because this one set my standards so high. I find the other ones too cringy. I just love everything abt this. Hoping for longer episodes. Galeng!
Dunno for others pero this looks so professionally made. From the visuals, music choices, the actors and their acting skills. Refreshing. Good choice seeing fresh faces on screen it proves na hindi necessary veteran ang kailangan to get good results. Quality and Quantity ito considering weekly siya pinapalabas ah. Filipino skills at its finest. Nakakaproud
Karl seemed upset when [over]hearing Vlad saying that into his phone. yet he referred to Vlad so himself a bit earlier and not just to his parents over facetime
