Saw the Metro at Brands Hatch in July 2023. It was at the Super Touring Power Event. Its being looked after by Patrick Watts, there is a video of it on JMS on cars. He is looking after 4 of them (i think there was 6 of them made althogher)
Sounds like they didn't have a clue what that SD1 really was, but it turned out for the best as it's back on track where it belongs and winning races rather than cooped up in the museum. The Metro is a tricky one to pin down as they swapped race numbers between cars; there's a long thread on the TenTenths motorsport forum discussing them, which suggests this one was bought from the auction by a chap for his teenage son. It may now belong to ex touring car racer Patrick Watts, who owns at least two other BTCC Metros, one of which had bizarrely ended up racing in the USA!
Great video Oscar, I maybe in the market for an SD1 vitesse and mk1 metro turbo later in the year but think these 2 examples are a tad above my budget 😀 Keep the videos coming mate I really enjoy them. Cheers Russ
Only a theory was the austin A55 built into a goodwood car for the ealy revival St Mays trophy Would seem a very cheap way to buy a solid base to start a build
The range rover chassis does still exist as a bare chassis because I have seen it a few times as local shows in Wiltshire in the past 5 years. It was made as lefthand drive so show the gearbox better.
