At this point, there really isn't any way to turn things back here. How does anyone move on from this. I think Israel is in a difficult situation because they retaliated but without there being an attainable end game. Do you cut your losses and end it hoping something like this doesn't happen again or do you keep going in hopes to finish things at the expense of unintended consequences. This won't end well either way. Having these enemies on each others borders makes peach almost impossible.

@@jamesabcd2266 Israel’s military has declared two primary goals in the Gaza Strip: to destroy Hamas’s ability to govern and launch attacks from Gaza, and to return the hostages held there by Hamas and other armed groups. I don’t think they will sacrifice one for the other, on either priority. Hamas requires a permanent end of hostilities and that is incompatible with one of Israel’s goals.
@petergreenwood7731 there's this thing called negotiations. You go and negotiate the terms of the deal. If you don't go, you can't claim its because of a certain reason. By the way, what are you their spokesperson? 6 weeks is not acceptable for Hamas... but we are talking about Palestinian lives here, not what some murderous terror group think is important for their survival. They don't want a ceasefire fire, they can take fire, how about that.
@@alexmost166 How about this. The inmates want freedom. If Hamas release the hostages will Israel continue their g-side? USA/Israel talk about a 2 state which requires a cease fire, not a pause. USA put forward a plan that Hamas accepted but Israel changed the word cease to pause.

You know the falkland war had a war civilian casualties ration of about 1 in 300 I do NOT claim that is the lowest number That is just the first example of a war that comes to my mind where people actually followed the guneva convention and not constantly commited warcrimes. @@waldemarmarwalde6817 It's not the lowest number in any war, it's the lowest number of wars fought in similar battlegrounds (urban warfare against an embedded enemy with in a civilian population). BTW: the global average for all wars in the past 40 years 9:1. 9 civilians killed for every combatant. In urban warfare that number rises to around 30:1. Even if we use Hamas' numbers, in Gaza it's around 2:1.
