This video covers how to practice scales, left hand chords, and progressions in the key of Gb/F#.G flat F sharp. This technique is useful in all styles of piano.
Great video Jonathan on a scale that's always scared me on the piano. When I'm playing this scale quickly, I tend to forget whether the F or the B is the one I should "flat" looking at the keyboard. Once I internalized where the F and B are on the scale, and that the B is the "flatted" one, my virtuosity doubled. I don't dread coming up to the white notes anymore. Thanks!
I think the reason the high F is called E# is that there can only be one instance of a key in any scale. Since F was used up at the root note, the high F must be an E#.
Awesome! Thanks for watching and glad I could help!. Its a very simple scale once you get the hang of it... Amy yes you are correct. It will be E# in the F# Major scale. F in the Gb scale. Thanks again!
@@JDEANFIA I've been practicing scales, but only on the right hand. I just did all 12 keys on the left hand, and guess which key had the best improvement? F#/Gb! My left hand thanks you too!
I'm searching for the best way to do scales. I tend to want to keep tempo, but at the expense of accuracy. I'm trying slowing down at difficult parts. It seems that more learning happens that way.
thank you for a good lesson! My thirst is to know well voicing in f-sharp . I am interested with gospel songs. now I have grasped some steps ahead through thise teaching.
+Biggie Chiremba That depends on the sound you want and how many notes you want to include in your chords. I combine both hands most of the time. Thanks for watching!
