Nice video. One question. at 2:38 the condensation collector plate is re-installed. You don't describe or show whether at this point the baffle is back in place or not. Is it intentionally left off while basting mineral oil on? Thanks.
I have the same question, at least prior to combustion. I left the plate off while the oil was applied so the bottom tubes would not be blocked from oil introduction. Which way did you go?
At the very end of the video they say to put the boiler into "High Fire" mode. How id this done?? How do I put my same exact boiler into High Fire mode as instructed in this video?
did the boiler push out a lot of smoke through the collector plate when it was running on high heat? i put a brand new gasket and everything and it still pushed out smoke
Spot on. I have a question regarding damage of the condensate trap/bottle, we have 3 GB112 and all traps were damaged and fixed the same way as here. Looks like this is a weak point of this part. Any idea why does it tend to crack? Thanks.
Use mineral oil to help keep it malleable. The plastic dries out. Regional rep around my way suggested I pour some mineral oil in the trap and to wipe it down on the outside every service.
Make sure you have no exhaust being pulled back into the unit through the air intake. I've seen boilers installed with exhaust and intake right next to each other and the results are corrosion on metal and degradation of plastic parts
