Neo Arcadian: Demogorgon Medusa Chip: Ground blade Attacks: Stone glare, snake seekers, ground tremor, assault viper, joint laser Stage: New Sky Lagoon (Intro) Rouge: Weil's forces have begun their assault on New Sky Lagoon. You must assist the dissenting Neo Arcadian citizens before the city is destroyed. Zero: Weil...so he's trying to retire billions of reploid and human lives by destroying the whole city. This is unforgivable! Ciel: New Sky Lagoon is X's creation and a historical landmark, Zero. Don't let history repeat itself from another destruction. Good luck! (Pantheon soldiers) Zero: Those must be what is left of Neo Arcadia's armies. Ciel: Those pantheon soldiers are aiding the dissidents. They are taking fire from Weil's forces. (Neo Arcadian dissidents) Rouge: Those are the dissidents, Zero. There are many more along the way. Help them fend off the enemies. (Dissidents saved) Dissident 1: Thank you! Dissident 2: We owe you our lives. Thank you… Dissident 3: You saved us. Dissident 4: We are in your debt. Dissident 5: May Master X guide you, hero. Dissident 6: Why would Neo Arcadia do this to us? (X statue toppled, miniboss encounter) Zero: ?!!! Ciel: That golem had destroyed the statue of X in Memorial Square! Zero: Attacking New Sky Lagoon is one thing, but destroying X's legacy is far enough! (Miniboss defeated) Rouge: Zero...you must hurry. Weil's forces are converging into the Memorial Hall! (Memorial Hall) Zero: So this is the Memorial Hall? Ciel: X constructed this place to preserve relics leftover from the Maverick Wars, including those from the Great Repliforce War and wreckage of Old Sky Lagoon. We can't let them destroy it. (Boss entrance) Rouge: According to the hall's schematics, you are entering an area called the Hall of Heroes. Ciel: That is where X along with other heroes of the Maverick Wars, as well as former Repliforce leaders, were commemorated here; and is considered sacred to New Sky Lagoon. Proceed with caution. (Boss encounter) Demogorgon Medusa: Ahh! Doesn't this place feel...nostalgic to you? Countless wars have been fought for a century, and yet the fools wanted to preserve them. You know, people of Neo Arcadia should forget the past and focus on the future. To move on from the memories of the Maverick Wars. Isn't that what X wanted? Zero: You're the one who's leading the assault on New Sky Lagoon? Demogorgon Medusa: Yes. But Sky Lagoon was long forgotten since its fall. I am Demogorgon Medusa, and I am here to destroy all things that are considered belonging to the past. You are Zero, am I correct? Yes! The one who opposed Master Weil. Another relic from the past that needs to be erased by the future. Soon you, and this city that fool X constructed, will be erased from existence! History shall be retired! (Zero defeated) Demogorgon Medusa: At long last, Zero is retired from history. New Sky Lagoon falls, as it should be! (Demogorgon Medusa defeated) Demogorgon Medusa: C-Curses! Defeated by a relic from the past?! Impossible! Zero: Even if I belong in history, X's legacy will be remembered, especially to all of Neo Arcadia. Demogorgon Medusa: Fool! Even if you saved this so-called New Sky Lagoon, their nostalgia will be their demise! You'll see it...when Area Zero, the site of the Eurasia Incident, will be erased by orders of Master Weil. Weil's future will prevail! (Demogorgon Medusa dies, Zero teleports back to HQ)

X4 was my first X game, It's nice to see a good remix of the opening stage

I would love to see this done in Mega Man Zero 2 style as it has my favorite soundfont in the Zero Series but this is still good 👌👌👌🔥🔥🔥🔥 IMO the Zero 2 style would make this theme feel more lively and emotional and close to the original, as X4's soundtrack, just like Zero 2, has similar synths and orchestral instruments

I jus re-played Mega Man X 4 recently

I think I might like this more than the original. The instruments, especially in the post-intro part, just hit the emotions so powerfully.

The alternate timeline where zero was the main character of the mega man x series and x was the one that outlive wily's greatest hero

Takes me back to when I had a MMZ Alternate Universe fan comic in mind that takes place after X’s ending in X5 where Zero dies but X survives and X later in the future goes through the events of the Zero series but slightly different lmfao. Don’t know if I should go back to that or not.

this pretty much confirms my suspicion that the composition was partially to blame as to why a lot of Mega Man Zero music never stuck with me until I hdeard the arranged albums.
