Lachlan is chief. I'm not a professional rider. I'm a 57 year old dude who loves his bike, traveled through Mexico and looks for any excuse to explore. Lachlan is an inspiration. His humanity and his demeanor just make you love the guy so much. His wife at the end of this says it all. This is a fabulous piece and man... I didn't think it possible to love the guy anymore. Amazing.
You watch 5 minutes of the tour, and I’m good for the day. This is the third time I’ve watched this one. Between Kanza and GBDURO.I think this is the best thing on RU-vid. Keep it up. Thanks.
Thank you for this, and for letting Lauchlan speak for himself. I know there's some discussion, but I love the way EF is shaking things up. I can't quite picture anyone from Ineos taking this on !
These videos are absolutely brilliant. The storytelling, the cinematography, everything. I'm becoming more and more of a cycling fan through watching these and excited for future vids to come! WELL DONE LACHLAN super impressive feat.
This guy has ridden in the fucking dessert in Australia, he's climbed one of the hardest climbs on Colombia, he's ridden 3 week races, and he still says that is perhaps the hardest ride he has ever done. 👏👏 Chapeau for all those riding this event. For the love of riding 🤟🤟
Amazing video, beautiful story. I would love to know more about the nuts and bolts of what worked and what didn't for those of us who are interested in this kind of riding - like what equipment worked, what kinds of food, how you handle the lights and batteries and navigating at night and all that jazz
EF have really switched things up with these and I love it! Good on them for thinking outside the box and letting their riders do these challenges. Well in Lachlan, properly inspiring!
I cycled through Ireland, southern tip to northern tip, Mizen Head to Malin Head, August 2018 with Wild Atlantic Cycling. The scenery on this brought back so many memories. I was only doing 85 miles or so a day on the road. I just cannot imagine doing the trails you documented. Just amazing! I get so much pleasure out of watching your adventures. Please keep them up! And congrats on a epic adventure!
Just starting to get into cycling and just discovered your team/youtube channel and i absolutely love the alternative series. Feels like stuff everyone can strife for instead of something like the big tours. The dirty kanza one was fantastic as well and really makes me take up gravel riding. And most importantly it makes me pick up my lazy ass and get one my bike and grind out some km and get fit
Big respect to Lachlan. The series creates a bridge between the world of pro-riding and the grass roots love of cycling. The EF riders seem respectful of the events and really get into the spirit of it. I loved watching Lachlan dig into pizza and beer mid-ride. (p.s. on that subject: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-PZghs06DemA.html)
Absolutely next level. Love it that this team is courageous enough to show another side of cycling...the side that we all can relate to and enjoy. Keep this up!
An amazing video that has been done very well. I love the idea about going back to the core reason behind his cycling and showing true love for the sport. I would very much like to see a video if possible about the bike setup and gear he used.
Wow. I remember watching this unfold on IG thinking, something very special is happening here. Finally a story to be told of why we love bikes, for people who love riding bikes, by people who obviously love riding bikes.
A brilliant film. Thank you. More similar content, please. Lachlan seems a really grounded bloke - ice to see the human side of a professional athlete. Very inspirational.
Welcome to ultra cycling! I almost choked laughing my way through this at your reactions. I was a night rider on a 4 person RAAM team in 2015. Sleeping on the ground, running from rattlesnakes in the dark with your spandex around your ankles and descending mountains in the dark in the rain while dodging shattered porcelain toilets in the road are part of the adventure! This terrain looked so tough. Kudos to you!
Awesome video! While I follow along with the whole World Tour season, these alternative events really resonate a lot more, and the great content you produce really hits home too. Awesome stuff EF and Rapha! And great riding Lachy!
faaack, best shit going. this over the tour every day of the week. Thanks for all you do lachlan and the folks at ef. this is what gets me out there pushing it
Amazing video. Some incredible scenery. You can also do it on a "normal" tour! That way, you get to sleep properly at night ;-). EF is having great success this season, despite/because of (?) the alternative racing program. Makes you wonder hey? Although I wouldn't expect to see INEOS or Astana or even DCQ ever joining in. So, good for you EF, and thanks so much. Coolest jerseys in the peloton, too!
Another belter of a video after the Dirty Kanza. Really enjoyed it. I like the direction EF are going with this alternative to the pro racing, mixing it all up. Great stuff guys.
What an awesome journey! The highs. The lows. The beautiful surroundings, scaling an 8 foot fence with a fully loaded bike and cycling through rough conditions. I had to laugh when I saw the Sushi to-go in a bivy & how he discribed his encounter with a field full of 🐄 💩!! Thank you for sharing your journey with us "Dot Watchers".
How am I just seeing this? So inspiring. So beautiful. So much suffering and such a tremendous satisfaction after climbing out from rock bottom. One of the best videos on the internet without doubt.
